Meet Spruce. He is just the loveliest little guy, and he loves people and playing. He likes to be where his people are, often checking to see if anyone wants to throw him a ribbon or toss him a toy. If no one is available, he is content to play on his own with his hanging toys or stuffed mice. When he's not playing, he loves to cuddle. He starts to purr before you even pick him up. He adores having his head rubbed. He has enjoyed all of the kids and kittens he's met, but he hasn't been around dogs yet.

Our Wednesday wish list is new brooms and dustpans. With having 8 colony Rooms, sick room, intake and clinic we could ideally use 15. Brooms and dustpans stay in each room so we don’t spread germs from room to room. As soon as our colony rooms are healthy we will get rid of all the brooms and will need to replace with new ones.

Hamish and his family were abandoned, and he came into foster a very frightened and bewildered little boy. It took many weeks for him to warm up to his foster family, and now he's blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and wildly playful kitten. He's constantly zooming around his foster family's home with his littermates, and gets along great with other cats and the family dog.

Our shelter will remain closed to the public at this time. We are currently treating multiple medical issues at the shelter and will be focusing our energy on making certain all of our feline residents are monitored, evaluated and treated.

We are currently anticipating reopening after Labor Day and will keep our followers updated on our progress.

Little Link is the last of his siblings to find his home. He is a wonderful playful little guy who also enjoys a good snuggle. He gets along with other cats and dogs. He has mainly been around older children. His one experience around a young child ended up with a hiss and him hiding, so would probably be best in a home with older children. Adaira was found abandoned with her littermates at about 6 weeks of age. She was originally very shy and withdrawn, but has come out of her shell and become a very sweet, affectionate, and curious kitten. She loves zooming around the house, chasing the red dot, wrestling with her housemates...and recently taught herself to run on the cat wheel. She gets along well with other cats, and has been cautious but tolerant of her foster family's dog.

Trinity is absolutely stunning!!
Trinity is a beautiful tortie. She is the smallest of her litter. She will make you work to gain her affection, but once she feels secure, she really comes out of her shell. She loves to find a box or secure place to curl up in. She does well with our other cats. She has been exposed to dogs, but doesn't spend a lot of time hanging out with them.

Ava was found abandoned on a bike path in North Muskegon with her sister Avery. Dirty and hungry. She is a funny, very friendly little girl. Quite vocal when she wants something like attention or canned food! Likes to curl up on your lap when she isn’t playing with her sister. She has a very loud purr! Loves toys and laser pointers. Has not been exposed to dogs.

Avery was found abandoned on a bike path in North Muskegon with her sister Ava. Scared, dirty and hungry. Timid for a short time upon meeting, she quickly warms up. She loves to be held and petted. Likes to sleep with you. She loves playing with her sister, laser pointers, toys and canned food. Has not been exposed to dogs.

💙🎂💙Birthday Boy💙🎂💙. 🎂💙🎂GONZO🎂💙🎂. As a Stray, we believe life on the streets was not very kind to GONZO. His rescuer claimed he was good with cats, dogs and kids, but we are not sure how that person would know so much about a stray cat. We are just grateful, she brought him to the shelter to give him a chance to live in a home and become a pampered pet. After a couple of months of playing hide and seek, GONZO decided that, maybe, it wasn't so bad at the shelter. And maybe having people give him pets, and scratching his head wasn't such a bad thing after all. GONZO is no longer hiding in high spaces. He comes for pets and boy does he love treats! However, GONZO does not want to be picked up or held!!! And when he gets over-excited, he has been known to give occasional "love nips". GONZO has made great strides since he arrived at the shelter, but he still has moments when he becomes over-whelmed. The shelter can be very chaotic with so many cats, so much noise, so many people. When it is too much, GONZO still retreats to a hidey. GONZO will need a quiet home with someone who understands that he has faced so many changes in his life, making him leary of new situations. This person needs to understand that even when GONZO does finally find his forever home, he will probably need to find a new hidey hole to retreat to occasionally. Once GONZO gains confidence and trust in a quiet environment, he will finally have the chance to breathe and become the awesome cat he really is. Perhaps he'll even let his person pick him up!GONZO would probably appreciate being the only pet but should be ok with another cat who is not aggressive. Given how nervous he can be with chaos, he probably would not do well with young, energetic children. DOB: May 26, 2022.
