Wishing you a happy, safe Fourth of July holiday! To ensure everyone has a good time β including furry family members β keep the following pet safety tips in mind:
β’ Take current photos of your pet(s).
β’ Make sure each pet has an ID tag or microchip. If your pet is chipped, check that contact info is up to date.
β’ Leave your pets at home in a safe, secure environment. Keep pets indoors if your neighbors set off fireworks.
β’ If youβre hosting guests, make them aware of your pet(s) and their location(s) and ask them to help keep pet(s) safe.
β’ Avoid feeding pets any human table scraps.
β’ Keep sparklers, glow sticks, fireworks, charcoal, hot grill, and kabob skewers away from curious pets.
β’ Too much sun, heat, and humidity can be dangerous to pets. Keep them inside when it's extremely hot/humid, and make sure they have access to shady spots and plenty of water when outdoors.
β’ Never leave your pet in a vehicle when itβs warm outside.
β’ Check your home and yard for debris and dangerous items before allowing pets outside to play or relax. Even if you did not set off fireworks on your property, litter can still make its way into your yard.
