I have a story that I’d like to share about Cash boy.
I don’t normally post things like this, but I want to share my experience with him.
I got a referral from a client stating “ my friend has a dog that’s been kicked out of another groomer, but I know you handle dogs like this.. could you try him”
* now normally, I don’t take truly ‘mean’ dogs anymore- they’re hard on my body these days*
I came into work, basically prepared for war, gloves and muzzle ready to go… & then I seen this sweet face staring at me…
The client told me he had to be drugged to be groomed… his feet were basically undo-able, that he was dramatic & moody…
I told her to bring him to me, sober.
This dog doesn’t even make top 10 of the ‘bad’ behaved dogs I’ve managed to groom.
He was kind, patient.. a little anxious.. but there wasn’t a true mean bone in his body… he was a typical anxious dog that like any dog… would react if he felt he was trapped, it was a lot of give and take, but not a mean or a bad dog whatso ever, I managed to not only clip.. but sand all of his toenails without any restraint, he never offered to “bite” me, was upset with my equipment here and there, not saying he was perfect
But my heart did sink thinking about how this dog has been drugged because of lack of handling experience, you have to read the dog in front of you, they’re all different with different triggers. & some dogs do truly need some sleepy help to be groomed comfortably… he Is not one of them.
Below I’ll insert a video. You’ll see his anxiousness and his unsurness.
I can’t wait to see him again and watch him learn to trust a grooming salon again.
Proud of Cash & his owner for trusting me with him today! 🖤
