Cassidy’s boy on the left and my guy on the right, they’re best pals and I’m sure you’ve heard and seen them as you drop off / pick up
Sometimes you may hear us say “ go to bed” or “do not jump” or trying to get them to stay in their crates as we do check in and check out.
I figure I could explain, it’s for safety mainly, also just to keep in touch with their obedience training.
some dogs are nervous at drop off, that can make them reactive and we don’t want to put any dog in that situation, also it’s just respectful to let the client dogs come in without our 2 goofballs bouncing around. (Also, both of our dogs are intact males, that alone can set some of the sweetest natured dogs off)
Our dogs basically live at the shop, they’re there 7-9 hours everyday with us. They have all the freedom to run around and play and do their normal buisness when all the client pups are dropped off and we start working, we promise they don’t spend all day in the crates.
I’ve just had a few clients curious as to why we often tell our 2 dogs to go to their crates instead of saying hi at the gate, I hope this helps some, we just want your pups to feel safe and not crowded by 2 crazy boys🙂
