Saturday's events at Live Oak International are expected to be an exhilarating experience. The lineup included Dock Diving, the BUDWEISER CLYDESDALES AND DALMATIANS, who are stopping by for a dock Diving lesson, and a world-class equestrian competition, all set against the backdrop of a world-class facility.
The presence of excellent food trucks and beer gardens further enhanced the experience. Furthermore, the event draws a diverse crowd of people from all over the world, each with their own unique stories and perspectives to share. Come out and have some fun.

Sebastian provided a demonstration for the Marion County Sheriff Mounted Patrol.
I think the horses enjoyed it. They were very curious.

We had the pleasure of meeting the Marion county sheriff mounted patrol, who are exceptional officers and horses.

If you want your dog to jump farther in dock diving, focus on building speed, improving takeoff technique, and boosting confidence. Here are some key training tips to maximize distance:

1. Build Speed on the Dock.
Encourage a strong running start – The faster your dog runs down the dock, the more momentum they’ll have at takeoff. Basic physics: speed + height = distance!

Use a long approach – Start your dog as far back as possible on the dock to give them maximum acceleration, ONLY if they have the confidence. Slowly move your dog back and make sure there is no hesitation. If so, move back up some to work on confidence.

2. Improve Takeoff Technique
Work on launch angle – The best jumps come from a slightly upward trajectory. If your dog jumps too flat, try raising the toy higher when throwing. This is something you’ll begin with your dog up close to the end of the dock to teach tracking.

Practice jumping over obstacles on the ground – Use hurdles or low barriers to teach your dog to jump the jump and catch the toy. This should help transfer onto the dock.

3. Use Proper Toy Placement
Throw the toy out and up – A well-placed toy (about 6-10 feet out and 2-3 feet above the dock for most dogs) encourages a bigger jump.

Don’t throw too early – If the toy lands before your dog jumps, they may hesitate or lose momentum. If you throw too late, your dog may slow down and wait for you.

Experiment with different toys – Some dogs jump better with a bumper, while others prefer a ball or tug toy.

4. Strength & Conditioning
Leg & Core Strength – Exercises like uphill running, swimming, and tug games build explosive power.

Balance Training – Use wobble boards or stability exercises to strengthen core muscles.

Jump Drills – Practice dock jumps, but also work on vertical jumps from the ground to improve takeoff ability. Make sure the landing is safe for your dog!

5. Build Confidence & Motivation
Make it fun – If your dog hesitates, go back to shorter dock to build confidence. Some beginner jumpers also prefer the place and send technique.

Reward ALL jumps – Celebrate every improvement with praise and lots of big WOOOS!!

Practice regularly – Frequent but short sessions will improve consistency and performance. Stopping the game before your dog is ready will keep the game fun and high value!

Have fun and good luck.
