Jackson's owner came out and got to do his first official "hunt" with his boy today. It is nearing the end of my time working with Jackson so this in my mind was the perfect way to seal the deal between the two of them and I couldn't be more pleased with the show these two put on together.

1 month ago Jackson came to me because other locations said at a year old he was to old to be a retriever/hunting dog, today he got to prove all those places wrong.

A little steadiness, heel, hold, retrieval, and socialization/work threw his toy possessiveness practice this morning.
(The phone had him a bit distracted)
He gave me a run for my money in the beginning that's for sure but this boy is really turning into quite the enjoyable furry friend ☺️

Jackson got his first trip to the fields today where we got the work in some high brush with birds and do an intro to gunfire, and some basic bird finding.
Pup handled it all like a champ!
Still hard mouthed and we need to build the connection with what he's doing out there some more but he is taking to it well and it's nothing some tracking drills and experience won't give him!

It pains me every message I have to send letting people know we are not operating at this time but the responses we are getting back lets me know that I was doing a good thing for people so this post is to thank everyone I've talked to for your loyalty and support

We regret to inform everyone that due to unfortunate circumstances beyond our control we will will be closing down until we can find a better more permanent location to operate out of. With help slim and wanting to take the time to be with family this was the only course of action we could take and I hope all can understand.

We will be finishing up with what we have on the books now but are not accepting new appointments or clients at this time....

This has been a dream of mine for many many years and has brought me much joy so I do not wish to give up so please don't get discouraged hopefully one day in the future we will have what we need and come back swinging with even bigger and more opportunities for everyone.

I'm behind on my trainings but everyone meet Nala. This girl is smart as a whip and doing so good with her commands.

He biggest thing now is the new kitting and as a puppy learning to control and turn off some of that puppy energy when needed.

Nala is a bit less than 1yr old mix breed. She is such a good sweet little spitfire of a girl lol
Shea's about half way threw her training and aside from all that puppy energy flowing threw her is showing great great intelligence.

This little golden (Azalea 4 months) is excelling beyond expectations!
The owner has clearly been putting in exceptional effort into her traing in between sessions and after only 3 sessions we are all ready moving into some more advance work to strengthen her skills even further.
The owner is hoping to turn her into his hunting companion and I must say he should have no issues doing that!

The truth with dog training is this......
1) You get out of your furry friend what you put into them, they are a reflection of your efforts.
2) socialize socialize socialize
3) no command is to small or two meaningless, every command we teach a dog can be used to strengthen and build your dog which leads to....
4) Baby steps, don't rush we all want that super awesome behaved puppy but it takes time and work I often say raising and teaching a puppy is a lot like raising a child, they have to not just crawl before they can walk they need to know how to stand up before that. Each and every basic step leads to a much bigger picture not to mention gives you a stepping stone and tool for future commands and problem solving tools towards unwanted behavior that might arise.
5) solid training never ends and from here I recommend going back to 1) and read it all again.
