If your pet was microchipped at River Oaks Animal Hospital, rest assured that we use HomeAgain microchips, which are NOT affected by this closure and remain fully functional! ✅🐾

If your pet was microchipped elsewhere and you’d like to check if their chip is one of the affected ones, we’re happy to help! Give us a call at (843) 236-6080, and we can scan your pet’s microchip to see if it is one of those affected.

"I decided to work in Vet Med because I love animals and I hate when they are hurt and sick, I want to help as much as I can. Being at ROAH, Dr. Heather and some of my co-workers have helped me become better than I thought I could be. They have believed in me and kept me going. I love being part of a team that will do everything in our power to help a sick patient. It's incredibly rewarding to give our all to a sick patient and witness them recover even stronger than we expected. My favorite part of my job is the family that I have here and get to see almost every day while we save as many animals as we can."

February is National Pet Dental Health Month. Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian for early signs of problems and to keep your pet’s mouth healthy.

Have your pet’s teeth checked sooner if you observe any of the following problems:

Bad breath
Broken or loose teeth
Extra teeth or retained baby teeth
Teeth that are discolored or covered in tartar
Abnormal chewing, drooling, or dropping food from the mouth
Reduced appetite or refusal to eat
Pain in or around the mouth
Bleeding for the gums
