My Sweet Ginger…her sight fades more with each visit and her hearing is going, too. Sassy Summer Style! Heidi can still look like the she is even with a short body length! It’s all about balancing your grooms to fit the pup’s personality and the client’s lifestyle! Heidi is starting day care and will be swimming and playing twice a week; that’s fabulous for her socialization and her health! A more stylized body length doesn’t make sense! I want to share some grooming secrets with you. Connection is crucial during the grooming process, so I purposefully create a sense of calm and warmth from my core. Then, I intentionally imagine that feeling of warmth flowing out of my palms…I’m positive it calms them and connects us…the bond begins here and grows during each visit. Energy is everything with dogs…if you want them to love grooming you absolutely must love it, too. Put them first…imagine the groom in your mind…see the two of you in sync…remember to breathe and constantly, and I mean constantly, keep that feeling of calm warmth coming out of your hands. The groom will come if you allow yourself to have a mind, body, purposeful experience during every groom. Too many of groomers feel pressure instead of peace. It doesn’t matter if you have to groom two or ten dogs a day; you can create a beautiful grooming experience for every pup and for yourself one dog at a time. Focus on each dog individually rather than thinking of the amount you have on your schedule each day. Take it and I promise you’ll feel peace instead of pressure.
