Everyone, meet Axel! Axel visited Dr. Acuna late one afternoon, displaying signs of lethargy, a lack of appetite, and behavior that was uncharacteristic of his usual self. After conducting diagnostic tests, Dr. Acuna identified an abdominal mass and was concerned it could be a splenic tumor. Following a thorough discussion with Axel’s owner, the decision was made to transfer him to Texas A&M’s Veterinary School Hospital for surgery. There, the veterinary team successfully removed a massive 10-pound tumor from Axel’s abdomen. Fortunately, the biopsy revealed that the mass was benign, and Axel is now thriving! We want to give a heartfelt shout-out to Axel’s dedicated owner for going the extra mile to ensure Axel can live a long and happy life. We also extend our gratitude to A&M Veterinary Hospital for collaborating with our doctors to provide exceptional care for our patients. We are so thrilled to see Axel recovering and look forward to his annual check-ups for many years to come!
