I’d like to apologize for the lack of content over the past few months, but I have good news. Not only are we still offering private lessons in Houston, we will now be offering stay and trains in the Austin/Pflugerville area. New website coming soon.

Atticus is a 5 month old , we are working on him learning to relax in the house for his owner. He was running the household and all over the place during our initial consult, very strong willed dog. This is just the beginning, can’t wait to see him progress even more.

Considering I have moved back to East Texas, I figured I would re-introduce myself to some of you who may not know me. I first got into dogs in around 2012 when I decided I wanted a Doberman Pinscher. Ryder was an excellent dog but unfortunately passed away at age three. About a year and a half later, I decided I was finally ready for another dog. The only problem was I was renting a house where I wasn’t allowed to have a dog. So, I decided to start searching for dog related jobs. Shortly enough I got a job at a doggy day-care that also did training, which is where my training journey began. I worked for several other day cares after that, then for multiple other trainers as well. I took a year off from training professionally and worked as a vet tech. However this was after I was given my current dog Josie, and we focused on training for competitive dogsports at the time. After working as a tech for a year I decided to start my own training business. Since then I have trained countless dogs on my own, competed in and won first place in high level competitive dogsports, trained police dogs, and was featured in UKC’s current video series on competitive obedience.

I am pleased and proud to announce I have a new property in a country setting for our stay & train dogs. Located in the Bald Hill Area, your dog will have more than plenty room to run and play as we have an acre set aside for training, as well as 32 additional acres for long walks and hikes. Hey everyone in the East Texas and Houston area, I recently moved to Nacogdoches and am now offering private lessons in the area. Folks and former clients in Houston, I am working on getting a trainer in the area to continue my work I was doing there, and should have that set up and going very soon. One of many things that sets Rise & Shine apart from your typical dog training business is that I like to send our 3 Week Stay & Train Program dogs home on the weekends. This gives us the opportunity to see what’s working so far, as well as what isn’t. I also do a quick pick up/drop off lesson, and send you with homework for the weekend. This gives you the opportunity to learn to work with your dog in the comfort of your own home, which is where there’ll be when the program is over. Dog training at NMBC!

We're teaming up with Rise and Shine K9 to bring a dog training class to New Magnolia Brewing
This class will cover some basics training tips and the science behind why they work while focusing on sit/stay, down/stay, walking on a leash properly, and coming when called. First come first served limited to 10 dogs.

Colton has 7+ years of experience training dogs professionally, is a former police dog trainer, has competed in and won various dog sports, and is feature in UKCs new competitive obedience video series.

This is a basic dog training class so please leave any aggressive dogs at home, but feel free to reach out to Colton directly for one on one classes.
