Quiet nights in the ER call for cuddles! Meet Buddy, a sweet 3.5-year-old Labrador Retriever who came in for vomiting, lethargy, and refusing food and water. After some suspicious X-rays, his owners along with Dr. Meloche and Dr. Paul decided an abdominal exploratory surgery was the best course of action.

Turns out, Buddy had swallowed part of his rope toy that he shouldn’t have! Post-surgery, he charmed us with his puppy dog eyes, so we made him a cozy bed in treatment. While keeping a close eye on him, we spoiled him with back rubs, ear scratches, kisses, and plenty of snuggles. Safe to say, Buddy had the best care—and the most love—throughout the night!

Sunday Nights ‘s C-section was a bit different from the one earlier this week!
Meet Rose, an almost 2-year-old Chihuahua, who is now the proud mom of three beautiful puppies! Rose delivered one puppy at home on her own, but when the remaining two couldn’t be delivered naturally, her owners and the doctor agreed a C-section was the safest option. Dr. Smith and her incredible team stepped in to help.
With three technicians and two doctors on staff and it being a busy night with two surgeries happening simultaneously in separate operating room everyone was playing a crucial role in their patient’s care! Each surgery had a dedicated technician monitoring leaving one to catch the puppies! A huge shoutout to this amazing team for their hard work and dedication. Viking Veterinary Hospital is proud to be here for your pets, no matter what they need!

Innovation that excites!

Meet Winston! A 1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog who was being naughty, got out of his cone and pulled his stitches out! Ouch! His owners duct taped two cones together to help reinforce his “confinement” until he could get in to see the doctor!

E-Collars or Cones can be very important to your pets recovery - especially if there are stitches in place!
