We are finally back at the rescue after our adventure to Putney Vermont, and all the birds are doing great and settled in. It sure was an interesting drive. Lots of trees and mountains along the way Those bridges in NY over the Hudson, WOW! Talk about a panic attack! Lol! In the end we're glad we were able to help out! Thank you to everyone who made this rescue a possibility for these birds! We will post pics tomorrow. Bed time!

2024 Bird Rescue traveling.

What a long day yesterday was. We drove over 600 miles! We left at 10 am and was up until 4am this morning, still unpacking. We had 9 birds arrive yesterday and only 1 volunteer to help us all day in the rescue, as the others either had to work or was ill. Anything that could have went wrong did. It was hectic to say the least. We always do our best and get it done, regardless. Some days we have to "wing it". Also a little advice. Please ALWAYS confirm with one of our members BEFORE you make plans to be here. Call the morning of your appointment to make sure it's still on. If you have to cancel, please let us know. We try our best to work with whatever is thrown at us. We don't like to miss our appointments with you or have you come all this way fpr nothing. I know it's stressful. We are tired. Pretty much exhausted on the daily. All the birds that came in yesterday are safe and sound. The families who needed to surrender their birds yestersay did so NOT because they were abused or neglected birds, but because these birds are their LOVED ones and they knew it was time. It's that they're getting older and the care they can provide now is limited. They chose us specifically and we couldnt be more honored. In the end it's about what's best for the birds. And we know we always do our best to accommodate every situation. We realize we can't please everyone and we are sorry. We will be posting up pictures this week of the birds after their assessments and we will be planning our next OPEN HOUSE soon! Stay tuned. Thank you ALL who are always here to help and support what we do. It isn't easy. We are human. We are tired. We are broke. We do what we can around our own jobs, school, appointments etc. Most important the birds that come in are LOVED. They are our family. ♡
Now off to help some families with grooming, and a trip to Bethlehem PA to pick up another bird who's family reached out to us for some help.

Again. We appreciate everyone who helps make thos possible. Many reached out asking how they can help. ****We can always use gas cards or gift cards for food for our travels. That gets costly with all the miles we travel state to state. We never charge the families when they need our help. Most do donate to help when they can but its never expected. We make it work!
