Another great week for Next Chapter! MTM Pocket Listing won the USHJA 3’3 green incentive and the Texas Super Stake. Melissa Gruber came to show Full Set and won the USHJA 3’6 green incentive. Kathy Chiaf’s Southside Of Heaven was reserve in the 3’3 green and Megan Odozynski and Sharon O’Neill’s Merritt Island was reserve in the 3’ green. Batavia Group and Neeraj Parasher’s Wayside kicked off the morning with a 4th in the $20,000 International Hunter Derby. “It’s not always about the journey or the destination, it’s about the people you meet along the way.” 💙 Wrapping up the HMI June Classic at the Rancho Murieta Show Grounds last week for the Tulucay squad. If you couldn’t tell from the photos, we enjoyed spending time with some of our favorite people.
Highlights from the show ring:
✨Missy and Jean Edwards’ Next were Reserve Champions in the 3’9” Greens
✨Kelly McGinnis earned top placing in the .80s and .90s.
✨Charlotte Komes and her horse Cassiopee D’Armanville were Champion in the .80 jumpers in their first show out with Tulucay.
✨Sammy Atkins Scullion eared great ribbons as she moved up into the 2’9 USHJA hunters. (4th’s and 7ths) on Brian Gruber’s Brix
✨Megan McNamera was 2nd in the 17 and under eq on the flat with Brix and continues to smooth out her equitation over the jumps

An unbelievable week at the Sacramento Spring Classic at the , hosted by ! Team Tulucay worked HARD and that hard work paid off in the ring.
Highlights below👇
🏆Jean Edwards’ Next was Champion of the 3’9 Green Hunters
💙Jean Edwards’ Oak Island was just out of the tri-color ribbons in the 3’6 Greens
❤️Jean Edwards on Oak Island was 2nd in two of her over fences classes in her second time doing the Adult Hunters with him! Well done, Jean!
🏆Bipper de Libaire got top placings the the 1.20s with Missy Gruber.
💙 Charmant ended up Champion of the 1.0 jumpers.
❤️ Megan McNamera on Brian Gruber’s Brix was 2nd the the THIS medal, 2nd in the CPHA, and 4th in the NorCal Medal
💛Sammy Atkins Scullion also on Brian’s Gruber’s Brix was Champion of the Pre-children’s/Adult Equitation and got great ribbons in the Pre-Children’s Adult Hunters
🏆 Siena Serini moved up to the pre-child/adult hunters on her pony, Lucky Charm and earned 3rd and 4ths!

We’re celebrating a number of big wins for Team Tulucay at the SAC Memorial Day Classic at Rancho Murieta! 🏆🇺🇸
- Siena Serini and her pony Lucky Charm won 3 out of 4 jumping classes to be champion of the Beginning Child/Adult Hunter.
- Sammy Atkins Scullion was 2nd and 4th in a pretty competitive pre-child/ adult hunter division on Brian Gruber’s Brix.
- Megan McNamera was also 2nd in the CPHA child/ adult medal and 4th in the THIS medal.
- Jean Edwards was 2nd and 2nd in the Adult Hunters and 4th in the undersaddle on her horse Oak Island.
- Kelly McGinnis ended up Champion her first time out on her new horse Bipper du Libaire in the .90 child adult jumper! And she reserve in the same division on her other horse Charmant. She was also 2nd and 4th in the 1.0 jumpers on Charmant.
Wonderful job team, we couldn’t be more proud! 💙

Week 1 at the Woodside Spring Preview by is a wrap and week 2 is underway! The team has had a fantastic show so far, and plan to finish out with a bang. Here’s a few highlights:

🏆Jean Edwards was 2nd and 2nd on her horse Oak Island in the Low child/Adult Hunters.

🥇Kelly McGinnis on her horse Charmant was Reserve Champion of the .90 jumpers and won the .80 Classic.

🏆Siena Sereni on her pony Lucky Charm was 8th, 7th, 4th and 3rd in the Beginning Child/ Adult Hunter.

🏆Sammy Atkins Scullion on Brian Gruber’s Brix got a 1st and 7th in the Pre-children’s hunters.

Time for another episode of “What’s Cooking at Tulucay”!💙 Brian whipped up French Toast with Praline Topping for the kids at the barn last weekend celebrating Spring Break. This one is easy and delicious - enjoy!

Here’s the recipe:
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
Loaf of bread
1/4 cup syrup
2 TBL spoons of cinnamon sugar

Praline Topping

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup maple syrup
1 16 ounce bag of Pecans
2 TBL cinnamon sugar

Quiet moments at Tulucay… 💙 #tulucayfarms

What’s cooking at Tulucay? 💙Since we’ll be spending some time at home, we thought we’d share one of Brian and Missy’s favorite dishes from a restaurant back in Frederick, Maryland - Chicken Sauté with Brie. Here’s the recipe: (we quadrupled it) Use 2 4oz chick breasts (butterflied to make the thickness uniform). Dust with flour and sauté in 2 Tablespoons of olive oil. Turn them once browned on one side. Remove from the pan once cooked. In the same pan, add 6 Tablespoons of sherry. Then burn off the alcohol- not your eyebrows. Add the 1 Tablespoons of tamari (Japanese soy sauce). Add 1/2 cup of Heavy cream. Add sliced mushrooms. Cool until the sauce reduces and thickens. Then put the chicken back in the sauce to re-heat. Remove the chicken and place over a bed of rice. Add a layer of brie over the chicken. Then add A LOT more sauce. Enjoy! What’s cooking at your house? Let us know! #stayhome

Missy earned WCHR points on a catch ride in the $250 Performance Hunter 3’3” O/F aboard Optimist with an 87.5. A huge thank you to Next Chapter LLC, Redfield Farms, Jennifer Alfano, and Luke Olsen for helping make it happen. #tulucayfarms
