There’s been a ton of moving pieces, but I’m finally excited to announce the Kitty Meow partnership with . As we’re closing down the Kitty Meow HQ and I’m not checking up on orders a million times a day it definitely does feel bittersweet.

But at the end of the day I’m extremely grateful.
Grateful to have found a partnership that I simply have a good and calming feeling with in Rich, and grateful to have the business I’ve poured my heart and soul into for over 15 years live on while I go focus on a new adventure. And obviously grateful to have finally turned this product based business into a legit PASSIVE income stream with this licensing deal!!

To balance this, let me quickly tell you a story about how someone (not a wholesale customer) was not happy 😱⬇️

A customer, we’ll call her Sally, emailed me and said she was really upset happy that her order came with black envelopes and had she known she would have never ordered.

I politely replied back and let her know that the pictures and product descriptions visually showed the black envelopes and written text said black envelopes. But I was open to her suggestions to communicate it more effectively. And gave her suggestions for writing utensils that look amazing on black envelopes. That wasn’t sarcasm either!

So I guess you can’t win em all, and there is ALWAYS room for improvement no matter how well things are going.

My original photos were MEH & sales reflected that. 🫠

When I introduced this cocktail napkin design I thought it would be such a cute way to incorporate people at a party. Kinda like writing in your name on those cheesy “hi my name is” name tags.

But in a rush to get them listed for sale, didn’t take the time to capture the full experience… then forgot about it.

Sooooo finally busted out my Canon camera, some disco balls, a bottle of champs, and my and got to work! 🙌🏼

I don’t want to brag 😹 but I guess I do! 😻👇🏼

Literally selling my products to be sold in stores all over the place has been a true game changer for my business and personal growth. What used to feel sooooo far out of reach has turned into the biggest blessing.

But the real MVPs are all my wholesale retailer customers!! I know the feeling of holding your business so very close to your heart. And for them to invite me & my products into their gorgeous spaces is never anything I take lightly. There are literally a MILLION + options they have to choose from to fill the shelves of their stores.

I’m eternally grateful to have them continue to pick me.

Which are YOU?! Let’s play a game!!

I probably don’t talk about it enough, but everything in the Kitty Meow greeting card collection is organized to where you can shop based on your mood.

Sometimes ya feel like a nut - and sometimes ya don’t. Sometimes you want to be a sweary sailor - and sometimes ya don’t! Nothing is ever meant to be mean (except maybe the divorce card - whoops!) but to quickly convey some 🔥 and emotion!

Let me know in the comments - you more of an EDGY black envelope kinda person - or is the SWEET pink envelopes & sentiments more your style???
 Also, I’m testing out some new taglines. Let me know what you think of the tagline on the last slide. I worry if it will come off offensive and not funny how I intended.

I didn’t just wake up one day and have a collection of almost 500 products that I sell in thousands of stores all over the world.

I remember the day I got fired from this job like it was yesterday, even though it was over 14 years ago. It was a design job that I had moved back to Las Vegas for after I left ANOTHER design job for 6 months prior because I decided to move back home to Illinois after a bad breakup.

I was getting paid “so much money” (by my standard at the time) at this new design job and thought I was hot s**t. I was designing advertisements for the coolest nightclubs and pool parties in town and then hanging out there too.

I remember one of the last ads I worked on was a party for Usher, that I stayed really late all week to finish. And then once that set of deliverable was done my boss called me in his office and told me I was good designer some of the time, but not strong enough consistently. While I do think there’s more to this story, I’ll never really know and it honestly doesn’t matter.

I’m so grateful I was forced out of that job because it made me step into something new.

And 14 years later - I can confidently say that I’m a CONSISTENTLY bad ass, STRONG designer. I wasn’t great back then, and that’s ok.

Good things take time.
Just like growing a thriving business.
Just like honing in on your skills.
Keep going - despite the obstacles.

We always talk about BEST Sellers, but what about the WORST?!?!  The internet is a highlight and here’s my de-highlight reel. These products haven’t sold like I expected them too, and while I get it… I don’t GET IT!! (does that make any sense?!)

So what do you do in a case like this?? Well I think you need to look within and definitely take responsibility. I know there are things I could have done better BEFORE even introducing these products and then after.

But I think it’s important that we discuss these things cause it’s not always sunshine & rainbows with the products we want to sell.

Ok, your turn… what product has been a huge let down for YOU?!?!

UPP Day 2 : PHOTO DUMP!!

The day started with an outfit malfunction, ended with a Flash Mob, and had a million magical moments in between.

Day 2 was my favorite day because it was a lot more relaxed - both in the programming and in my head.

The Anonymous Panel is always one of my favorite parts because we get to have some on the spot, honest conversations about good times and not so good times in business. Sometimes the truth hurts but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about it.

coordinated the Flash Mob of my dreams and my life is seriously complete because of it. Thank you to everyone who participated in this crazy idea.

My flight just landed in Chicago as I’m posting this. Can’t believe you plan all year for something and then it’s over so quickly. The outpouring of love from ever e has been so amazing.

UPP DAY 1 - Photo dump!!!!

Fun fact: right after this walking through the aisle moment I tripped and fell in front of everyone. What a way to kick off 2024!!

Day 1 we started late because of a ton of technical difficulties that sent me into almost a full on panic attack. Yayyy! 🫠😹 But we pulled through and everyone said they didn’t even notice! 🙌🏼

KILLED IT as our 2024 emcee and all the Day 1 speakers were incredible. I loved being able to have more space to really talk and connect with all the attendees. NAILED IT with all the stage decor and were hands down the best freakin Photo Booth I’ve ever experienced in MY LIFE! If you’re in southern Cal and need a not basic bitch Photo Booth they are your people!!

Will post pics of Day 2 later - because outside an outfit malfunction, Day 2 was incredibly more relaxed!!! No hyperventilating at all 😹😹

But like wtf these pitches I’ve been getting are SO BAD and LAZYYYYYYY. This trend is totally missing the mark. So like if you’re gonna do it… be better. Anyway, my MAIN point here is that all your content can’t be about selling your products. People want to connect with you on a human to human level. Which is why… 💋 In person events are important 💋 Tradeshows are important 💋 Showing YOU and your personality is important online All of this will in turn sell more products. Even if it ends up being in a different capacity than you thought it might come to you. Which wanting to make more sales is NOT a bad thing. Hello!!! That’s why we’re all here!!
