July 4th is just 1 week away. Now is the time to start planning to prepare for the upcoming increase in noise that many of our pets find so frightening.

Remember to safeguard your pet by finding them quiet locations in your home; music & play can be a good distraction, as well. It's best to keep your pet safely secured indoors during the noisiest days & nights.

If your pet is not microchipped, now is a very good time to consider doing so-frightened animals can suddenly bolt & become lost. A registered microchip will assist in getting that pet back home to you.

Also, now is the time to discuss with your veterinarian whether calming medications may help your pet through the holiday.
