We have a lot of customers asking us how to prevent matting even though they are brushing their pup every day. But they are all missing one object that works the best. The magic of all magic is………the metal comb!
Two things you need is a metal comb, which reaches all the way down to the skin. But you also need a slicker to brush the top of the coat.
Also learning to line brush is a great thing for doodle owners to learn because every coat is different on a doodle.
So in order to prevent mats from occurring, make sure you are using your metal comb to comb through the whole coat.
Comb, brush, comb is the combo to get use to. It also is great to make sure you are getting not only the top layer of the coat. But also getting down to the bottom of the coat where the matting begins. Metal combs are great for every area of the dog especially the face and the belly area.
