Thank you to Tarheel Canine and Aaron Kemp for an amazing seminar this weekend. I furthered my knowledge in handling aggressive dogs, dogs that resource guard, react, and have touch sensitivities immensely. I cannot wait to apply this knowledge to some of my current cases and those that I get Iām the future as well. It was great to go back to some of my roots, catch up with my old instructors, and meet new friends all while continuing to learn from some of the best in the industry!

Remember to always be aware of your surroundings when walking your dogs in Florida! We have a lot of animals and plants that can be dangerous to our little furry friends! When by the pond, gatorsš will memorize the pattern of your day and may wait for you the next time you walk along the pond. We also have the dreaded cane toadsšø, and poisonous snakesš. Lizard tails can make your dog sick if they ingest them, and as for plants ā¦ those little pine seeds that so many dogs love to snack on- they can get caught in their tummies and cause an intestinal blockage.

Just remember to be aware and never let your dog eat anything off the ground!

Meet Gracie! Gracie and Noah used to be best friends growing up. Gracie moved away and they havenāt seen each other in awhile, but our sitter Meghan had a lovely time watching her this week!
Hereās Benji, Teddyās big brother! He enjoys running around the yard chasing Teddy and his little sister Lola!
Fun fact: When I got Aspen, her teeth were covered in so much tartar you couldnāt make out any individual teeth. I started feeding her raw bones right away and the tartar disappeared after three feedings.

Greenies and some other dental chews actually can promote plaque growth. Check the ingredients, if you see wheat or flour as some of the main ingredients, then unfortunately you have fallen for the company marketing. Flour products actually promote plaque growth. If the greenies actually took care of tartar, the companies would be out of business because all pets would have perfect teeth.

If you are looking for a way to decrease plaque growth go for small raw bones! Always give them raw as cooked bones will splinter, give them when you can supervise, and give them appropriate to the size of your dog!

Also a big thank you to for allowing me to adopt this sweet girl and letting her live out her best pet dog life. She has found her new favorite activities are tap and hides for her toys, swimming and dock diving (stay tuned for the results in her trial coming up), and a great little house guardian! I canāt believe itās almost been a year since I met her!

Pepper is a French Bulldog, so she is a brachycephalic breed. This means she has a broad head and shortened snout. Itās always important to watch the time your dogs spend in the sun to avoid heat stroke; however, it is incredibly important to monitor the brachycephalic breeds as their shortened noses reduce the amount of oxygen they take in. This can result in rapid onset of heat stroke.

Meet the newest member of the family, my sweet Opal! Opal is 3 years old and was rescued from Doberman Rescue Unlimited ( ) in New Hampshire! Sheās quite squinty as she is albino and cannot see without her glasses.
Iām a day late, but I just wanted to say happy 1 year anniversary to Noah Barks! When I first began pet sitting, I never imagined I could build a company like this. Now, this is only the beginning and I am so excited to announce what is to come. I am so grateful for all my sitters that have stood by my side and helped make this such a success. I am also beyond blessed to have such amazing clients that become my family. I truly have the best job and I wouldnāt trade it for the worldš¶ā¤ļø

If you think youāre good enough, no you arenāt. There is always room for improvement. By filming my sessions I am able to rewatch them and see what I did well, and what I need to watch out for next time. My timing is about 1 second off in these clips so my goal for next time is to get faster at rewarding when she is in position. When I am training out in public, I love to prioritize educating others! I SHOULD have said āthe e collar is how I can ensure I can COMMUNICATE with herā, because that is truly what I am doing. I am adding an extra layer of communication.š©ļøE collars are not shock collars! E-Collars, akin to TENS machines, offer a gentle tap or tingle for communication. It does so by tensing the muscle, ensuring both physical and mental well-being. I always make sure all my clients have felt an E-collar and understand how to use one before I put one on their dog! (For reference, Onyx works on a level 10 and it wasnāt felt here until level 14) š©ļøI also make sure to emphasize positive reinforcement while training with the e collars! This week's group class at North Collier Regional Park turned into a personalized one-on-one session with Wesson! Wesson, a 2-year-old labradoodle, successfully completed the 3-week home obedience course. We are working on proofing his obedience out in public and around other dogs! This exercise is crucial because many dogs tend to become overly excited around other dogs, and some want to chase others. While Wesson excels in obedience, he struggles with impulse control in this situation. Here, we also showcase an exercise from the Canine Good Citizens testāwalking towards each other and coming to a sit. Wesson improved his impulse control through the lesson, and maintained excellent behavior around an unfamiliar dog! Feel free to reach out if you're interested in joining our group classes!
