Pet Tip Friday! 🐾
A cat’s litter box is an important part of their life. Here are some litter box tips from the ASPCA:
-Find the Right Spot: Place the litter box in a quiet, easy-to-access location. For multi-level homes, have one on each floor.
-Keep It Clean: Scoop daily and refresh weekly—clean cats are happy cats!
-Avoid Strong Scents: Use mild cleaners, and avoid ammonia or scented detergents.
-Keep It in Place: Try not to move the box, but if needed, shift it just a few inches per day.

Meet Kosmo!
Kosmo's parents noticed he was squinting from his left eye. After running a few eye tests, we found Kosmo has a corneal ulcer. We were able to get him on eye medication and well as pain medication to help with the discomfort. We hope you are feeling better Kosmo!

Ares the Great Dane and Prometheus the Belgian Malinois both came in with ear infections. After running an ear cytology, we sent them home with the right medications to get those ears feeling better in no time! 💙

Did you know grapes can be toxic for dogs? Stella, a sweet Pomeranian, found this out the hard way. Thankfully, her pet parents acted fast and brought her to UrgentVet. We induced vomiting to safely get the grape out and kept her comfortable afterward. 💙

Meet Quilla ❤️
Quilla came in for shaking and scratching her head. After performing an ear cytology, we found she has a yeast infection in her ears. We were able to clean out her ears and get her on medication to help with the infection. We hope you feel better soon, Quilla!

Washing your pet's toys, blankets, and bedding removes germs, dirt, pollen, burrs, small hitchhiking bugs, and other irritants. Some furry friends suffer from seasonal allergies, so it's important to wash their bedding regularly. This is also a great time to clean their food and water dishes and tidy up the area where they eat and sleep.

Pets sometimes munch on things they shouldn’t—like whole rib bones. This sweet dog, Kumo, gulped down what he thought was the ultimate treat before his pet parents could intervene. We quickly took x-rays to find the bone's location, and Kumo was transferred to an ER vet for emergency surgery that night. Quick action and diagnostic testing were crucial in saving Kumo's life. If your pet gets into something they shouldn't, time is critical. We're here for you when you need us.

With the heat still in full swing, remember that our furry friends feel it too! Walking your dog in hot weather can lead to heatstroke and other injuries. Here's why: Concrete and asphalt retain heat, making it much hotter for your pet, and these surfaces can burn their paw pads. When it’s above 80-85 degrees, it’s best to walk your dog in the early morning or at dusk. If that’s not possible, keep walks short and stay on the grass. Always provide plenty of water and watch for signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and confusion. If you notice any of these, bring your pet to us right away.
