Teams Ginger and Willie were blessed to visit 2 Naples memory care facilities this afternoon and share God’s love and kindness with residents, families, and staff. Ginger got top billing, of course. 😉 Canines for Christ

Team Zoey and Chaplain Maryann visited a Pre K class and read them a book about Therapy Dogs.”
The book discusses what a therapy dog is, how they train (go to school) to become a certified therapy dog. Zoey showed them her vest/badges and some things she learned in school.
Then Zoey and the class danced to “The Doggie Dance” music video before Zoey “waved” a good bye till next month. Canines for Christ

Teams Ginger, Willie, and Beau brightened the afternoon for some memory care residents today. Ginger and Willie dressed in holiday finery and all the dogs brought Christmas cheer and God’s love to these dear people. Canines for Christ

Team Zoey visited a pre K class, to read, “The First Christmas” -Jesus’ birth. The kids sang and danced to Christmas songs and each received candy canes. They held the candy cane up so it form the letter J (Jesus) and 2canes together form a heart.❤️ Jesus Loves!

God answered our prayers and brought Sue and Denny and canine Beau to join our merry band! They made their first visit yesterday to an assisted living and memory care facility. The residents loved them almost as much as we do! Chaplain Maryann and team Willie and Ginger joined in the fun. We look forward to how the Lord is going to use this new team! Canines for Christ

We give thanks to God for Team Zoey!

Chaplain Maryann and Zoey read the Pre-K class the story of the Pilgrims and “The First Thanksgiving.” The class shared what they are thankful for. God, Zoey, Family & Food topped the list. The November craft, “Thankful Turkey” and pumpkin muffins were enjoyed by all.

Canines 4 Christ Naples Chapter welcomes Willie Gilligan Gall to the team! He joined Team Ginger visiting a couple of memory care facilities today. He was generous with his kisses and loved on everyone he met. What a blessing it was to share God’s love with patients, staff and families! Canines for Christ

Little Willie joined Team Ginger today on our visits! Three memory care facilities, two dogs, two handlers, serving one gracious God. Both dogs enjoyed pets and rubs and hugs and offered their unconditional love in return.

Meet Ginger!

Ginger is the cover girl for C4C Naples Area Chapter. She came to Naples through a rehoming post on Facebook. Ginger is a rescue who had some behavioral issues before God brought her to us. She is about 6 years old and of mixed origin, possibly sh*tzu and yorkie, but whatever she is, we know she is 100% cute and loved.

She had only been with us a month when we heard Chaplain Larry doing an interview on Moody Radio and realized Ginger had been given to us for a purpose! We began a year of training classes and once she earned her CGC, we eagerly joined Canines for Christ.

Since then, we met up with Chaplain Maryann and Zoey who encouraged us and accompanied us on our first visits. Then Kimberly and Reagan joined us for visits and suggested forming a chapter when Sheree and Leo and Leica came alongside. It’s been an exciting and blessed journey. Husband John and mother Jane joined Team Ginger. It is Ginger’s love of all types of people that brings much joy to those we visit and to our home, a great reminder of God’s love for us! We'd like you to meet another amazing dog serving Canines 4 Christ Naples Area Chapter: This is Reagan!

Reagan and (his handler Kimberly) started serving with Canines for Christ in northern Virginia when Reagan was just seven months old! He was easy to train, and successfully passed Canine Good Citizen class when he was six months old. He’s six now, is a natural lover of people and other dogs, and absolutely thrives in his service. Since then, he’s had advanced training from a specialized trainer and may join Team Zoey in the near future in hospital visits.

The photos of Reagan and Kimberly are from 911 centers in Virginia, fundraising events, assisted living centers, and most recently Memory Care and Hospice events in Naples, Florida. They keep looking for new opportunities to serve our Lord & Savior! And we are so glad they are part of our Chapter!

Team Leica made a special new friend this week at the Naples memory care facility! Also several residents showed interest in Leica. Sheree talked with all of them and felt blessed. The new management welcomes the visitations of therapy dogs anytime 🐾🙏🏼🐾. Well done, Team Leica! You've represented our Lord and His love well. Canines for Christ

This week we are introducing to you another one of our incredible canines who serve the Canines 4 Christ Naples Area Chapter. Canines for Christ

Meet Zoey! Zoey is a black labrador retriever mix and former shelter dog. Maryann was volunteering at the Children’s Advocacy Department, entertaining the kids with a visiting shelter puppy while they waited to meet with their social workers. She would watch certified therapy dogs & their owners join the social work sessions and court hearings with their assigned child. Then she started seeing social media pictures of Canines for Christ therapy dogs and God stirred her heart and was directing her steps! But she prayed: "But I don’t have a dog, God!" And the long search began for a loving dog from a shelter.

She knew Zoey was a good candidate with her sweet disposition and “happy tail;” however, it was the minute she jumped on the bench and licked Mary Ann's face that she knew Zoey was perfect for their new ministry as a team!!

Zoey has come a long way in a 5 years since her shelter days. She has earned her Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine, AKC Therapy dog and Advanced Therapy Dog certifications. Maryann has become a chaplain, and Team Zoey has ministered in many Assisted Living, Skilled nursing, and memory care facilities. After Hurricane Ian hit Florida, they ministered to both victims and responders, showing unconditional love to all they meet.

Presently, Zoey ministers to young children in the Study Buddies program. When Mary Ann tells her she's going to put her vest on and go to work to see the “kids,” Zoey spins in circles and can’t get to the car fast enough!

As Chaplain Maryann says, "This ministry is a true blessing to everyone involved, especially us. 💕🐕‍🦺✝️"

We're doing a new thing! Every week we are going to introduce you to one of our incredible canines who serve the Canines 4 Christ Naples Area Chapter.

This week, meet Leica Grace! Leica is a 6 year old Bernedoodle, a Bernese Mountain Dog and Standard Poodle mix and came to Sheree and Leo from Canada.

They knew Leica was “special.” She passed her STAR Puppy and Canine Good Citizen very quickly and was fully certified as an AKC Service Dog for Sheree. Leica began visiting Sheree's mom at an assisted living facility as Sheree's service dog. Now Mom lives in a memory care facility and Team Leica visits her 3 times a week.

This year they became a member of C4C and continue bringing Leica 3 times a week to Memory Care. Leica also goes to a medical health center and visits with the doctors and patients.

Leica Grace, you ARE special and we are so glad you are part of our team!
