The holiday season brings beautiful decor, but some festive plants can be dangerous for your furry friends! Here are 6 holiday plants toxic to cats and why you should keep them out of paw’s reach:

🎄Poinsettias
These iconic red beauties contain a sap that can irritate your cat’s mouth and stomach, causing drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea.

🎄Mistletoe
Both American and European mistletoe are dangerous. They can lead to drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea—plus, in severe cases, cardiovascular issues.

🎄Holly
Holly’s spiny leaves and berries aren’t just sharp—they’re toxic! Ingestion can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

🎄Amaryllis
This elegant flower hides a toxic secret. Eating any part of the plant can result in drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or tremors.

🎄Lilies
True lilies (Lilium and Hemerocallis varieties) are extremely toxic to cats. Even a tiny nibble can cause kidney failure—so steer clear!

North Naples Veterinary Hospital will be closed on Thursday, July 4th, 2024 in observance of Independence Day, and will re-open for normal business hours on Friday, July 5th, 2024. If you have an emergency during this time, please refer to our list of emergency facilities in the area. If you are in need of sedatives for your fur baby, please plan accordingly and call the office to have them filled prior to July 4th. We hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday, surrounded by family and friends! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🎆

Our Story

Dr. Al Lehman and Dr. Ryan Gorbutt

North Naples Veterinary Hospital is a small animal private practice that is well equipped to provide for all of your pet’s veterinary needs. Our doctors Al Lehman and Ryan Gorbutt have over twenty years of combined experience in general practice and emergency medicine. With their vast knowledge, respectful bedside manner, comprehensive care, and compassionate service, you and your pet will prefer us.

Our hospital offers everything from routine care and wellness exams to comprehensive health care and nutritional guidance for pets of all ages. We provide complete medical, surgical, and dental services for dogs and cats. We also offer boarding services for existing patients. For senior pets, be sure to ask about our Class IV Laser therapy for the treatment of arthritis and pain relief.

Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm. On the second Saturday of each calendar month, we are also open from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. You can find us in the Naples Walk Shopping Center at the southeast corner of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Airport-Pulling Road in Naples, Florida. We are at the opposite end of the same building as Off the Hook Comedy Club.
