Skyler spent over five years in a home before being returned when her owners moved and couldn’t take her with them. Now, at 7 years old, adjusting to shelter life has been tough — especially for a dog who’s known nothing but a home for so long.

Skyler would love nothing more than to be back in a loving home. She’s crate-comfortable, enjoys relaxing in the pool, and is slowly settling in while we get to know her better. She can’t wait to find her forever family.

Roomba came to us last week from DAS (Domestic Animal Services) after they noticed a large swelling near his a**s. Our veterinary team quickly confirmed the diagnosis — a perineal hernia — and just three days later, Roomba was in surgery.

A perineal hernia happens when the pelvic muscles weaken, allowing organs to bulge through the muscle wall. It’s most commonly seen in older, unneutered male dogs — exactly Roomba’s case. Left untreated, it can cause pain, difficulty using the bathroom, lethargy, and serious complications.

Thanks to your support, we were able to say yes when DAS reached out for help. Roomba received the surgery he needed and is now recovering — slowly but steadily — which is expected given his age. 💙

This is why your donations matter. They allow us to step in during times of need and work alongside local shelters like DAS to provide lifesaving medical care when dogs like Roomba have nowhere else to turn.
