Gimli had an amazing time during his Rescue Recess adventure! 🐾 He enjoyed a walk in the park and a fun car ride. His new friend shared, "I had a great afternoon stroll with sweet Gimli. Thank you for helping me learn my way around on my first outing with him." 💙

Gimli is still waiting to find his perfect match! This enthusiastic and playful pup loves physical activity and mental stimulation to keep him happy. He’s been waiting patiently for his forever home, and he just might be the perfect addition to your family.

Looking for a walking buddy? Join our Rescue Recess program at Humane Society Naples! This program lets our adult dogs enjoy a morning outside the shelter, whether it’s a stroll downtown or a local trail. It’s a great way to help our dogs burn off energy and gain exposure, and it’s perfect for anyone who wants to support us without a big time commitment.

This past weekend, we held our 19th Annual Run for the Paws, and it was an incredible success! 🐾🎉

Happy Foster Friday! Meet Roman! 🐾 Roman is one of our senior cats currently in a foster home, but he’s looking for a longer-term foster or his forever home. At 14 years old, this distinguished gentleman prefers the comfort of a loving home to the hustle and bustle of the shelter, which can be a bit overwhelming for him.

Though Roman may seem shy at first, he’s incredibly affectionate once he warms up to you. He’s a pro at “making biscuits” and loves observing his surroundings from high vantage points. He enjoys a good nature video, lighting up with joy as he watches. While he adores affection, he prefers to stay comfy in his spot rather than being picked up.

His foster shares:
“He’s been with us for 2 weeks, and I must say, he’s perfect! Roman takes his two daily meds like a champ, is neat with the litter box, and loves snuggling next to you. He would thrive in a quiet home as the only cat.”

Who’s ready for the 19th Annual Run for the Paws 5K? 🐾🎉 It’s happening tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more excited to see you there!

🌡️ Weather Update: It’s going to be chilly, so make sure to dress warmly and layer up! Hats, gloves, and cozy gear are your best friends to stay comfortable while running or cheering on the sidelines.

🐶 For Pet Owners: If your furry friend isn’t used to cold weather, it’s okay to let them stay cozy at home while you enjoy the race. Their comfort and safety comes first!

📍 Packet Pick-Up: Stop by Humane Society Naples' Main Shelter until 6pm today to grab your bib and t-shirt! Avoid waiting in line tomorrow morning and enjoy a few extra minutes staying warm before the race.

Meet Brie! This sweet young mama cat is always by the door of her cat room, eagerly waiting for visitors to come in and shower her with love and attention. She’s a talkative little lady who will happily chat with you while soaking up affection.

Brie has been diagnosed with FeLV (feline leukemia virus), but it doesn’t affect her daily life. She’s just like any other cat looking for a loving home. Did you know that FeLV-positive cats can live happy and fulfilling lives!

Sweet Agatha is searching for a loving home! This adorable girl was recently returned to us through no fault of her own—her previous owners had to move away. She’s 1 years old, a social butterfly who loves making new friends, and very friendly. Agatha has plenty of energy and enjoys playing with her toys, making her a great running partner. She’s also a Rescue Recess favorite, with everyone raving about what a good girl she is.

Despite all her wonderful qualities, Agatha is still waiting at the shelter. We can’t believe it—her tail is always wagging, and she adores being close to her friends, soaking up all the love and attention.

How adorable is Enola? 🐰 Enola is a sweet and affectionate lop lionhead who loves her hay and pellets—she’s quite the food-loving bunny! She has the cutest habit of standing up on her back legs like a little prairie dog to get a better look at her human friends and ask for affection.
