I have been working with this breed since 2017-2018 from eggs shipped to me from California. Out of the 2dz eggs, 6 hatched. 1 rooster and 5 hens. I have been hatching for the past 7 years- keeping only the best of the best offspring to get to where they are today. It is a lot of work to hatch dozens of chicks, grow them out and then hand select who goes and who stays. Keeping peppering in the line to keep the rich buff color, but keeping those with pepper out of shows. Just because the chick came from champion parents doesn’t mean it is going to grow up to be a champion bird. In fact, it could have so many flaws that it you wouldn’t even consider showing it or it could have peppering which you need in your line but not to show. You all must understand this when purchasing any breeder chicks. They are not always exhibiton ready as adults. You have to hatch, grow, select, keep or not, repeat over and over.

Why am I telling you this???

It’s now time to pass along the journey to you all and for you to start your perfect flock and line of the Buff Orpington. My chicks and their future offspring will become your chance to create your perfect buff Orpington flock and get the birds into the hands of your kids to show.

My chicks are NOT your standard hatchery, tractor store birds!!

I will be selling Buff Orpington chicks in the very near future. PICK UP only. Chicks will be $20/each and will NOT be sexed. There will be NO negotians or discounts.. Minimum purchase of 2. I will not be responsible for any chicks that go to their new home and don’t make it. You must know how to care for them and have everything necessary for them. Heat, clean cage, pine chips, medicated chick starter and fresh water. I cannot refund for any reason once the healthy chick leaves. My flock is NPIP certified as well. There will be no holds.

In 2019 our original rooster won Overall Grand Champion at the County Fair. Each of our roosters and hens have won Best and Reserve in Class since then each year at the county fair and Each year since our roosters have won Reserve grand champion at the county fair. *2020 we did not take home awards

In 2023 our rooster won Best in Show at our first local 4h show.

We have also shown in Arcadia and have gotten best of breed, Reserve English class with a hen and champion English class hen on Champion row a few years back.

We have not ventured out to other shows statewide or nationally.

I hope to see a lot more Buff Orpingtons in the hands of our youth at the county fair
