FACEBOOK, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE?

We have been with FB from the beginning and for so many years, this platform has served us well and been an integral part of helping us raise donations for the dogs.

Unfortunately, something has gone wrong lately, and it appears that not only have we been shadow-banned (meaning the majority of our followers are no longer able to see our posts), but between the fraudulent accounts and bots, we are lucky to get through one post without hate, spam, scams, and harassment.

So we are asking all of you to PLEASE start to follow us on our other platforms on YouTube and Patreon. It's FREE but of course we also have paid membership to help keep the donations coming in for the dogs. Both have a similar Facebook feel where I post pics and videos and keep you up to date on what's happening here at VRC.

Without your continued support, things are going to get "ruff" for VRC. 🙁

VRC employee hero of the day; Jenna! She spotted this little hound dog on the interstate tonight. Thankfully, she had a collar with a name tag, so we were able to reunite with the owner within minutes :)

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...

From the swamps of Louisiana to the woods of East Texas, to the mountain tops and hollers of West Virginia, this is where you will find Villalobos Rescue Center.

Our West Virginia location is small and closed to the public. We house a small group of dogs here while we assess them for our prison dog training program at Rockview Prison in PA.

Thankfully our kennels here are indoor/outdoor and are heated. But Kodiak the Tibetan Mastiff says "This is my favorite time of the year!" This big Grizzly Bear of a dog came in as a rescue and was adopted out by Orlando, who oversees this location.

Looks like someone is going to have a white Christmas!

URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME NEEDED

This sweet girl was found on a rural highway with a broken leg. She is going into surgery after some wonderful people came together to raise the donations. But after surgery, she has nowhere to go.

As you all know Blueticks are my soft spot but I have a house filled with them and we are also in the middle of closing down our New Orleans location and scrambling to fit those dogs at our other location.

And before you suggest it, please do not say Misfit Hounds. Brad is also drowning in dogs. And truth be told, this girl needs an actual home to recover in.

If anyone can step up to foster/adopt, please contact Friends of Pound Pets in Acadiana directly.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF... Some of you may recognize this litter of Hound/Lab pups that M2 rescued a couple of weeks ago after they were found abandoned at a property in Assumption Parish. Today, she wanted to highlight them and do a fun video, but it turns out the only one that got highlighted was M2 🤣

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF... A peek into our wolfdog sanctuary in Texas: Villalobos Rescue Center - TEXAS I always say that if hounds were fluffy...they would be wolfdogs: escape artists, make lots of noise and are trouble looking for a place to happen. Yup...same dog! Haha!

HOW DO YOU NOT LOVE AN OLD HOUND DOG NAMED ALLEN? Those of us who have known Allen for years have watched this video over and over, and our tears of happiness cannot stop flowing. You see, Allen has a form of doggie autism. If you look up autism in humans, Allen's behavior checks off all the boxes. And for this reason, we chose to not adopt him out. He struggles with many things, such as the slightest change in routine or his environment. He will panic for hours on end if anything changes. His personality/temperament has also been know to go to extremes when stressed. Recently, we hired this young man who had no experience with dogs. But there was something different about him—something very special. And quickly, he managed to snuggle his way into Allen's life. I'm pretty sure if Allen could talk, the words you hear in this video would be his. Being Hounded

How in the Hell/Heck, did I get “hounded?” I don’t know...it all just kinda snuck up on me. Maybe it was those long, soft and floppy ears. Or maybe it was those soulful, droopy eyes. But I can tell you this, the second I laid eyes on that 5 month old, Bluetick Coonhound who would eventually become Jethro...my life as I knew it was OVER!

Although he is the cause of a daily dose of screaming (coming from me), the source of many broken windows in my house and his horrible habit of “rage pooping”, he has somehow managed to become the most popular dog on a little ole show called “Pit Bulls & Parolees”.

I can now say that I am a “Jethro Junkie” and there’s no cure :)
