⭐️🎥 This Week on the Highlight Reel…
Road Safety is one of the most important things we teach for our students who live on or near busy highways. Duke here came to us with several needs, but chief among them was road safety. His humans wanted him to understand to never cross the road without them and to be able to stay in a controlled sit at the edge of the yard when they went to get the trash bins or mail. What you see here was accomplished in one session! Way to go, Duke! 👏
🎥🐶👏 Highlights of the Week!
If you have a reactive or anxious dog, you know all too well how stressful going for a walk can be. It can feel nerve wracking, embarrassing, and often times hopeless. And the most common misconception is that the solution is some hyper complex intimidating process that will take months to learn and implement. But the truth is actually the exact opposite. With the right trainer and behavioral philosophy, progress like this can be made in mere minutes. It’s not about teaching your dog, it’s about teaching YOU some simple minimalistic techniques and letting that new behavior of YOURS flow through the dog. Teaching proper leash behavior is one of our Top 3 favorite things to teach. Getting to see that stress and anxiety fall off our client’s shoulders that first time they walk healthily and successfully is one of the greatest feelings we can experience as trainers and truly the why we do what we do. Way to go, Biscuit and Lauren! We’ve still got work to do but this progress already is phenomenal. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you at next session!
🎥🐶👏 Highlights of the Week!
Healthy leash behavior can be one of the most intimidating skills to learn in training. But the key is really quite simple! We’re not so much changing your DOG’S behavior so much as we’re changing YOURS. Then your dog responds to YOUR new healthier behavior with their OWN new healthier behavior. Wanna learn? Message us! We can’t wait to teach you!
And thank you Mary Jo and Cinnamon! You guys are doing amazing! Keep up the great work! 👏
🎥🐶👏 Highlights of the Week! Check out Zuma and Patrick SLAYING the “Pace Match” Drill! So proud of you guys! Keep up the great work! Clients like you make our job SO much easier and such a joy! #dogsofnashville #nashvilledogtrainers #nashville
⚡️🐶 New Student Spotlight! Everyone, meet “Nala”!
One of the most frequent questions we get is, “Where do you train my dog? Is it always in-home? Do we ever train elsewhere?”
The answer is simple… We follow the dog. Wherever they exhibit behavior that needs improving , that’s exactly where we go to treat it. Do they present reactivity only toward joggers in a certain part of the park? We go straight there
and find the joggers! Do they freak out when you approach the dog park? Then we go to the dog park! We also understand that your Week 1 training needs may not be your Week 3 needs, so we always remain open and adaptive to that in real time!
Take little Nala here for example! She’s enrolled in our Fido Fundamentals course but halfway through, her family had to take an unexpected long road trip and in prior short car rides, Nala didn’t do so well. So they asked if we could work with her on that to make the upcoming road trip a better, less scary experience for her. So we tweaked her training curriculum on the fly, hopped in the car, and went for some training rides! Within minutes, she was calm and at peace with the car’s movements and sounds and even began to fall asleep.
Moral of the story… follow the dog!

🥹 There is NO better feeling in the world as a dog trainer than to receive texts and update videos like this one months or even years after your student has graduated. Here at tCA🐾 we put an incredible amount of emphasis and intention not just on rapid learning and behavior improvement in the moment, but more importantly, on longterm retention and success as well. We always say on graduation day, “We love ya, but in the best way, we hope we never see you again!” 🤣.
Rock on, Chexy! You and your amazing humans, Mary & AJ, will forever be one of our all-time favorite fams! Keep up the good work and give Chex a treat from us (earned of course 😉)!

⚡️👏 Progress Spotlight on Hank!!!
Reactivity to other dogs is SO improved! Within one session, we got him walking callly and confidently in stride with my assistant dog, Nala! Way to go, Hank! You’re killing it!!! (you too, @jordynjaeckel!) ☺️🤍
📈👏 Progress Spotlight on Gravy!
This big boy stole our hearts from Day 1, and only halfway through his training program, he’s making incredible progress like this! “Place training” can be a godsend and infuse a healthy level of control, calm, and obedience into the home. And once it’s taught, all members of the family can implement it (check out our little future assistant trainer, Elle here, fully directing Gravy with confidence and ease)! Thanks, Blair for letting us share Gravy and his progress with the world!

🚨 Update on Sarge!
Sarge continues to progress and improve with every passing day! We’ve had ZERO regressive incidents since training began and his humans are already reporting a totally changed atmosphere inside their home and greatly improved energy between Sarge and everyone he comes into contact with. This is by no means a crystal ball guaranteeing long term success and our work is of course not yet finished, but one week away from the end of his two-week time clock on imprrative behavioral improvement (or else, euthanasia) and we absolutely love where we are and how far we’ve already come. One week to go, and obviously anything can happen, but as of now, things are exactly where they need to be to save this sweet pup’s life. Update again in one week! For now, check out his progress in learning patience, looking to his humans (and trainer) for direction, obedience, proper pack hierarchy calibration, and enrichment through drills like the ones featured in this post!

Reactivity/Desensitization Training!
Meet the gorgeous Ms. Maisey! She came to us needing help with severe reactivity towards other dogs while on leash (and even dogs on TV)! In one session we were able to fix her TV reactivity through positive reinforcement, redirection application, and encouraging better decision-making with praise and reward! Next up, we tackle her outdoor reactivity on-leash and we can’t wait to help her knock that out of the park too!
