Why should I let my dog sniff??
Meet Stanley! He is available for adoption @soarescue_tn
When I was first called, they asked me to assess him to make sure he would be safe to adopt out. I usually hate these calls because it’s usually a very hard case.
Not Stanley!
This pup was so lost in his own head, feeling insecure and lacking confidence. As soon as they would take him out for a walk, all he tried to do was pull them back inside. He barely took treats, toys were uninteresting to him and he had a very hard time making eye contact or any kind of connection with dogs or humans. He was totally overwhelmed.
We assigned relaxation work, basic cues, down-time and lots of sniffing off leash in a safe, fenced area.
A few months later, LOOK at him!! He LOVES going for walks! He sniffs the entire time, unless he stops to check in with eye contact! He LOVES playing with his ball and we have realized how incredibly intelligent he is by training with treats and rewards.
He would do best in a quiet-ish home where he can go for long walks, hikes, or maybe even a patio/beer garden outing once in a while.
Go meet this handsome boy! He is fantastic!!
Captain's "WHY"
This little guy is looking for a home through @agaperescueandtraining
He does things simply because he loves the attention! The tennis ball is his greatest motivator. Captain loves other dogs. He barks when he first meets new people then will happily run to you and lick your face!
Captain's why? Why not!
