The NHA January Staff Member of the Month is... 🥁 Marie!
For 23 years, Marie has been the heartbeat behind many of our operations, quietly working behind the scenes to ensure every animal and adopter has what they need for a smooth transition and a bright future. From coordinating shelter animal records to ensuring the pets at our Low-Cost Clinics are properly documented, Marie’s meticulous attention to detail touches every aspect of what we do. Her work may often go unnoticed, but it is absolutely vital to our mission. Every animal that enters our care, every adopter that walks through our doors, and every pet that receives services at our clinic benefits from Marie's tireless dedication and commitment to excellence. Marie, your hard work and passion for our animals are truly appreciated. Thank you for your 23 years of unwavering service and for making Nashville Humane Association a better place for the animals and people we serve. The NHA December Staff Member of the Month is... 🥁 Rini!
Rini hit the ground running coming into her Pawsitive Impact Program Coordinator role just a few short months ago. At that time, she made the position her own and brought years of animal welfare experience and knowledge to NHA. One of her keen abilities is meeting folks where they are in times of high stress and often crisis. Listening and taking in what people are saying and transforming that into a conversation to offer resources to try to keep pets out of the shelter is one of her superpowers. And she does it with empathy and a smile! Rini loves data and what it can tell about our community at a snapshot in time. This is helping guide her in future outreach opportunities that will ultimately help NHA help our community. She is also a whiz with a spreadsheet, not to mention a pie chart! Thank you, Rini for your passion and for channeling that into the wonderful work you do at NHA and in our community. Please enjoy your parking spot and a gift card as a token of our appreciation!
CONGRATS, RINI - You are the most deserving of the coveted parking spot and more!

It's a great day to be kind!💓
On World Kindness Day, we want to remind our community to look past the shelter walls when considering a new pet. The shelter, and a life without stability, can be very difficult for dogs and cats. For dogs like Symphony, that looks like being hard to focus and relax when seeing other dogs or unexpected movements. For some, it can look like shutting down and not seeming like they bond with a potential adopter. For others, it can look like having endless energy, when really all they need is an outlet and routine.
So, next time you visit your local shelter or rescue - choose kindness. Give the stressed animal a chance. Ask staff about an animal you might otherwise overlook. Animals like Symphony just need a home and loving family to call their own.🥺 #worldkindnessday #nashvillehumane
