The moment you’ve been waiting for… Coco’s babies are officially available for adoption!🎉

Over the last two months, you’ve cheered them on, watched them grow, and supported their journey from tiny newborns to playful pups, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of their story.

While Mama Coco still needs a little more time, her six babies are officially ready to spread some puppy cheer in their new homes!

❤️ Please remember: We do not place holds or accept applications ahead of time. If you’re hoping to adopt one of Coco’s pups, you’ll need to visit us in person to meet them and apply.

Not all puppies get an easy start...

These little fighters are currently battling parvovirus, a serious and highly contagious illness that primarily affects young and unvaccinated dogs. It attacks multiple systems in the body, and recovery is not easy, but these pups are not alone.

Thanks to our incredible team, they receive round-the-clock care, including multiple injectable medications, feeding tubes to ensure they get the nutrition they need, and constant monitoring to adjust their treatment as they fight. Each day is a team effort, with multiple veterinary staff dedicated to giving them the best chance at survival.

They live in our isolation ward to keep them safe, while also protecting the other animals in our shelter. Every day we see small victories, tiny signs of strength and resilience that remind us why this work matters. These pups are fighters, and we are hopeful they will be on the path to adoption in the future.

Thank you for always showing up alongside us, even during the toughest battles. We couldn't save these 10 lives without you.🩵

The holidays are here! Before you plan your visit or adoption trip, check our hours so you don’t miss out. There’s no better feeling than giving a shelter pet a loving home this season, so we hope you'll decide to visit Nashville Humane!🤍

❄️ We encourage potential adopters to arrive a minimum of one hour before closing to ensure you have enough time to find your match, but we will accept adoptions up to 30 minutes before closing.

Do you remember Twilight?🖤

We featured him on Giving Tuesday this year, after a concerned citizen brought him to a vet with a broken arm. X-rays revealed the fracture was old, meaning Twilight had been living on the streets with this injury for some time before finally getting help.

Our team helped perform surgery to place a plate in his arm and gave Twilight the time, care, and patience he needed to heal. And now, we’re so excited to share that Twilight is officially accepting adoption applications!

Twilight can be shy at first, but with patience and love, he truly blossoms. We hope you'll visit him this weekend and help him start the next chapter he’s waited so long for.🖤

Volunteer of the Month!⭐️

If you’ve ever attended one of our low-cost vaccine clinics, you may recognize December’s Volunteer of the Month: Sarah Winters. What many may not realize is that Sarah is also a familiar and beloved presence behind the scenes. Since joining NHA in 2023, she has become an essential part of our Vet Services team and a regular helping hand in Marie’s office, where her monthly support with data entry and transcription keeps our operations running smoothly. Sarah is also one of our most dependable event volunteers, showing up throughout the year for major events like Cause for Paws, Music City Brewers Fest, Pride Fest, and many more. She is adored by staff, treasured for her reliability and kindness, and often one of the unsung heroes behind NHA’s success. We truly couldn’t do what we do without her! Thank you, Sarah, for making a lasting impact on our animals, our team, and our community.
