This simple scan could reunite a family!💙

Did you know we have a 24/7 Microchip Scanning Station right outside our shelter gates at 213 Oceola Ave?

If you find a lost pet, you can stop by any time, day or night, to scan for a microchip and help them get back home.

Not sure how it works? No worries! We’ve got step-by-step instructions right at the station, and this video helps walk you through the process!

Every scan could mean a happy reunion and fewer pets entering shelters. Thank you for helping us keep tails wagging and families together!🐾

While you're out grabbing $8 burgers from Nashville’s best spots during Nashville Scene's Burger Week (July 7–13), make one extra stop and swing by NHA today! These two aren’t topping a patty, but they will top your list of favorite things.

She’s playful, affectionate, previously lived with other dogs, and always ready for adventure (or a nap on the couch, depending on the vibe). Our shelves are almost bare, and we’re in urgent need of:

🧼 Towels (new or used)
🐾 Dog & cat food (wet or dry, unopened please)

These items stock our Pet Food Bank and help care for animals here at NHA, but right now, we don’t have enough to go around.

Want to help? You can drop off donations during business hours or ship directly to us (213 Oceola Avenue) at nashvillehumane.org/give/wishlist from our Wishlist. Even one towel or a bag of food makes a huge difference!

Do you remember Oakley?🩷

We first shared her story with our community in May when she was still deep in her healing journey, not quite ready for adoption but surrounded by love.

Oakley came to us in January after surviving years in a puppy mill. She was terrified of people, refused to walk on a leash, and spent her days hiding in the corner of her kennel. Then came the medical diagnoses: a heart murmur, severe dental disease, and mammary tumors that required extensive surgery.

But thanks to months of care from our team and her incredible foster family, Oakley has slowly learned that love is safe. She now follows her foster parents around the house. She plays in the yard with her doggie foster sibling. She’s blossoming more every day.

And now, she’s officially available for adoption!

She’s still shy. Still learning. But she’s brave in all the small ways that matter. And she deserves a loving home where she can continue to bloom. Adopt Oakley and help us finish the story we started together.🩷
