It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Jim Larkin, a dedicated volunteer trapper for our Community Cat Program (CCP). Jim was a fierce advocate for every cat and person that he met.

During the 15 months he volunteered with Pet Community Center, he worked tirelessly to trap 367 cats from all areas of town for caregivers that were in the most need. He tag-teamed trapping projects with his daughter Miranda and even brought along his trusty pup, Chutney.

In between projects, Jim would help our team at the clinic doing anything from washing traps to socializing cats and keeping the cat housing area spotless. Jim was an invaluable resource for our program and our community. He will be missed dearly.

If you would like to make a donation in Jim's memory, visit https://www.petcommunitycenter.org/donate. If you are interested in volunteer trapping with Pet Community Center, you can find more information and apply at https://www.petcommunitycenter.org/volunteer. 🐈 ❤️

Meet Epona, the adventurous pup who loves traveling and making friends all across the country! She came to Nashville to support her owner's passion for music, but Epona was struggling with a huge mammary mass on her abdomen. Her owner, living on the road with limited resources, didn’t know how to help her. Every day was a challenge.

That’s when we met her dad and knew we could make a difference. Thanks to Grey Muzzle, we were able to get Epona the care she needed: vaccines, heartworm testing, and blood work for surgery. And after a successful surgery to remove the mass, Epona is free from her heavy burden!

Today, she’s back on the road, living her best life, and feeling better than ever. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible! With your support, we can help even more dogs like Epona get back to being happy and healthy. Make a donation at https://www.petcommunitycenter.org/pawlidays?segmentCode=PA1224SM1.

Meet Gurl Gurl, a sweet 1-year-old who is initially shy but becomes loving once she warms up. After a difficult start in life, she was mistreated and left to fend for herself. Thankfully, she found a caring home with Martha, who wanted to provide more for her but lacked the resources.

Through our Pets for Life (PFL) Program, Martha received the support she needed, including vaccinations, deworming, and preventive care. When Martha expressed concern about a neighbor wanting to breed Gurl Gurl, we arranged for her spay surgery, booster vaccines, microchipping, and a nail trim—all covered by the program.

Months later, Gurl Gurl injured her paw, and we quickly provided treatment with antibiotics and pain meds. Today, she’s thriving, receiving regular meals from our Food Security Program, all thanks to your support.

This Pawliday season, your donation can help more pets like Gurl Gurl receive the care they need and support their families who love them dearly. Every gift counts, and with your generosity, we can create more stories together. Donate now at https://www.petcommunitycenter.org/pawlidays?segmentCode=PA1224SM1.

In 2022, Angela opened her heart and home to Boss, a dog who had faced a tough life—heartworm positive and abused. "He’s had a hard life, he really has," Angela shared.

As someone on a fixed income, Angela was concerned about how she would afford the care Boss needed. But despite the challenges, she knew she was meant to give him a loving home.

That's when she learned about Pet Community Center (PCC), where she was able to access free heartworm treatment, discounted medications, and vaccines for Boss.

Through the partnership between PCC and MACC, Angela and Boss found each other—and with that, a bond that’s changed their lives. “I don’t know what I’d do without him,” Angela says.

Everyone deserves the unconditional love of a pet in their life. Every pet deserves high quality veterinary care no matter their family's financial situation. This Pawliday season, we need your help to continue providing that care for families like Boss and Angela. Will you consider making a donation to support animals in need? Every gift makes a difference. Donate now at https://www.petcommunitycenter.org/pawlidays and help us spread love and joy this holiday season.
