Tomorrow, we will celebrate opening doors to animal health at Art for Animals, which is possible thanks to amazing sponsors like The Sound Emporium. Their generosity ensures more than 500 dogs and cats living in veterinary deserts will receive free medical care, supplies, and food this year.

We are thankful for the team at The Sound Emporium for believing in our work and being partners in ending pet homelessness.

Friends, we could use volunteers this Friday! We are receiving a large shipment to support our Food Security Program, so we will be sorting and stacking pet food, organizing supplies, and lifting a variety of items. If you would like to help between 9AM to 2PM (set your own hours!), please email [email protected].

Already this year, we’ve provided over 25,000 pounds of free pet food to families facing food insecurity, so your help will help us serve even more pets and families this fall!

TGI($5)F! This $5 Friday will you give to Pet Community Center to support our accessible core wellness services at petcommunitycenter.org?

Through our Vaccine Clinic, we offer affordable vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, microchips, and dewormers. Additionally, since the beginning of the year, we've covered over $23,000 in core wellness care for pet owners facing financial hardship.

Every dollar you give will ensure that financial hardship does not prevent animals from receiving high-quality veterinary care. Thank you for your generosity!

When Grace moved to North Nashville, she didn’t expect her neighbors to have four legs, long whiskers, and bushy tails. But, that’s exactly what she got.

After several glimpses of cats darting in and out of the brush in her backyard, Grace discovered that a colony of 11 cats was living in her yard and the yard of her neighbor, Sean.

Since Sean fed and took care of the cats, Grace didn’t think much more of them until she learned that Sean was moving and could no longer take care of the colony.

That’s when Grace stepped up and became the cats’ new caretaker.

As their new caretaker, Grace decided that feeding them wasn’t enough. She needed to get all of the cats spayed/neutered and vaccinated.

“I thought, we’ve got to stop the cycle here,” said Grace.

That “cycle” Grace refers to is the cycle of outdoor cats constantly reproducing and then struggling to survive. Spay/neuter is the only effective way to stop that cycle.

So, that’s what Grace did.

With the support of our Community Cat Program, Grace trapped each cat, had them spayed/neutered and vaccinated at Pet Community Center, and then returned them to their outdoor home.

The best part is that because of our donors’ support, we provided these services to Grace and her community cat colony at no cost.

Now, Grace takes pride in caring for the cats, knowing that they are healthy, happy, and won’t reproduce.

Will you give your best gift today to spay/neuter more community cats like the ones under Grace's care at petcommunitycenter.org?

On Wednesdays, our Pets For Life coordinator transports dogs and cats in our PFL Program to the Phran Galante Center for Pet Wellness for spay/neuter surgeries and annual vaccinations. Already this year, 424 pets have received 1200 medications and 1300 supplies at no cost to their families.

This program, which is part of The Humane Society of the United States, serves families living in veterinary deserts (37207, 37208, and 37218). Our goal is to remove barriers, like transportation, so these pets can access the care they deserve. We love being part of these communities and meeting amazing families every day!

We love senior dogs and so does The Grey Muzzle Organization, which recently granted $15,000 to Pet Community Center to provide preventive care for senior dogs! Accessible preventive care is essential to helping dogs live longer and healthier lives. So far this year we have served 800 senior dogs, and with this grant, we will serve many more.

Wednesday’s the 4th Annual Nashville Pet Project, and your support will create more smiles and save more lives for pups like Arthur and Bernadette!

Together with Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control and Friends of MACC, Pet Community Center can offer lifesaving treatment to dogs entering the shelter that are heartworm positive, which can be a significant barrier to adoption. But Arthur and Bernadette, both adopted last month, will receive that treatment at no cost to their adopters in our clinic thanks to FoM’s support. As you can see, both pups are all smiles both at MACC and with their new families, which speaks to the care and love they receive.

Frankie used to think she only had two options when she saw a cat outside: take them inside and adopt them or not intervene at all. As an animal lover with a big heart but a full house, neither option sat well with her.

That is until Frankie learned about trap-neuter-return (TNR) - the process of humanely trapping, spaying/neutering and vaccinating, and returning community cats to their outdoor homes.

“This was a beautiful win-win. I got to help them, feed them, and become a light mother. I get to see them through their lifespans and know how they’re doing,” says Frankie.

Since learning about Pet Community Center’s Community Cat Program in 2018, Frankie has trapped, neutered, and returned 18 community cats in her North Nashville neighborhood, preventing hundreds of unwanted kittens.

“It’s my favorite do-gooder thing I’ve ever done in my life,” Frankie says.

Our Community Cat Program provides resources and services to improve quality of life for community cats, help them become good neighbors, and humanely reduce overpopulation at no cost to caretakers like Frankie.

Without TNR community cats constantly reproduce and then struggle to survive. Spay/neuter is the only effective way to stop that vicious cycle.

Will you give the life-saving gift of spay/neuter by donating now at petcommunitycenter.org?

With your support, we can give community cat advocates like Frankie the resources they need to stop the cycle.

Happy Friday! Will you give $5 to spay/neuter and vaccinate community cats at petcommunitycenter.org?

Earlier this year, Chris trapped 18 community cats, who were then spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped for identification at PCC at no cost to him. The most valuable way our volunteers helped Chris was by transporting all 18 cats (plus 2 of his own) to and from the clinic.

Last year, PCC covered the cost of nearly $200,000 in medical services for community cats, most of whom would never see a veterinarian otherwise.

We need your help to continue providing pay-what-you-can spay/neuter and other medical services for community cats. Thank you for your generosity!

It’s the first day of Dogust, but let’s celebrate July before we hit the dog days of summer. Last month, nearly 1,400 cats and dogs received life-saving care in our clinic, which includes 194 community cats! Also, your generosity made it possible to cover $16,000 in medical cost for deserving pets in our community.

Thank you for your support in opening doors to animal health by making veterinary care more accessible!
