Maybelle update…

We had several sightings yesterday afternoon, February 14, in East Nashville. She is hovering around the Shelby Park area. We are moving traps and shelters over to that area and the thing you can do to help is continue to share these posts but please continue to reinforce the message of DO NOT CHASE-REPORT!

Maybelle is VERY SCARED of humans so the only way we can catch her is to let her feel safe and keep her in one spot so we can concentrate our efforts to specific areas and let the traps do their job. She is also still wearing her purple collar.

Remember she has moved from Green Hills to 12 South to the Gulch then to Demunbreun and on to 40, back to the Gulch and now to East Nashville. We need to keep her over in East so reinforcing the do not chase-report method can do that!

We know it is cold and the weather is terrible but Maybelle is incredibly street smart. She was out on the streets for weeks before she was caught as a stray and taken to the shelter where we pulled her about a week ago. She is a VERY smart little girl so rest assured that she will hunker down and find shelter during the storm. She is also very determined so if she gets spooked by humans she will flee.

Thank you Nashville and beyond for all of your help with Maybelle-it is so heartening to see how many have rallied around this scared little rescue. ❤️
