If parameters and tank setup are correct, shrimp will happily expand their colony. When a shrimp is ready to be pregnant, the female will develop a "saddle". This appears as a different color spot (often yellow or green) on your female shrimps back. Then, she will molt for a male to find her.

Once the process is complete, your shrimp will move her eggs to her belly. We call this "berried" (pictured here). Once berried, the mother shrimp will carry her eggs for 3-4 weeks until she quite literally kicks them out of her belly. Once kicked, babies are fully formed, tiny clones of their parents and begin their hunt for food.

Happy sh*****ng, everyone!
