What a difference 10 years makes!
The first picture is from 10 years ago today when, lettuce be honest, we really didn't know what we were doing. We knew that we wanted to grow and distribute year-round nutrient dense herbs and leafy greens. We knew that the solution was growing indoors. We just didn't have all of the skills yet.
The second picture is a pretty normal view into our second location at . Lots and lots and lots of beautiful lettuce!
Come celebrate 10 years with us this coming Friday August 9th! We'd love to see your face, we'd love to hear your connection to our work, we would love to give you some free pizza and drinks!

Investing in the future of our farm. As we grow more and more, climate gets more and more challenging! We have operated for a decade without stand alone dehumidifiers, which most would have told us was impossible.
Well, we are now at the point where it is indeed impossible. Excited to see what these 2 units do for us.

Hey everyone, Jeffrey here! It’s hard to believe that just over 10 years ago Greener Roots Farm was founded. What started for me as both a business challenge (could I make it work) and a desire to fill a local market need (year-round access to fresh food) has grown into so many amazing things.

A lifelong passion for growing food, cooking food, eating good food, teaching my kids the importance of where your food comes from – really ALL things food. Personal relationships with employees and their families who came to Greener Roots aligned with our mission of nourishing healthy communities. Personal and professional relationships with some of the most talented chefs in the entire world. An amazing community of other farmers that are always there for each other to grow the local food movement as one. This journey has forever changed me as a person and my family as consumers of real food!

In December of 2022 my family relocated to Atlanta. Greener Roots has been bringing produce to Atlanta for over 4 years now and both my wife and I have family here, so it was a logical next step for us. After running the business remotely (and many spontaneous trips back to help make things happen) for almost a year I realized that I was not the right person to sustain and grow this business long term. In November, I had the privilege of selling the business to someone who has the energy, capacity, locality and desire to take Greener Roots to the next level!

Keeping a food service/farming business alive for 10 years did not come without challenges. I am so grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey with me and helped support the ups and downs. There are way too many people that I could thank, so I won’t try. If you’ve ever done anything to support Greener Roots – then you’re on that list.

Keep an eye out for our 10th anniversary celebrations that will be happening in August! All ordering and communication is business as usual, so no changes for you customers!

I am still involved daily with the business, so have no fear I’m still here! You can reach out to me on my personal IG if you need me, otherwise I see these messages too!

Have you tried our newest retail product? BASIL!
This is a classic Genovese basil and now being offered in .5oz and 2oz clams along with the living version we have already offered.
We are taking special care to be sure it is delivered to stores without having been cooled below 52 degrees. Much longer shelf life and less blackening if you don't let basil cool down below 52!
