Mia was one of our very first rescues back in twenty-fourteen. Today she got her very first hoof trim (because she hasn't needed it) and likely her last because she's 14 years old. Her dew claws needed a trim today.

Sadly, many of our pigs will depart over the next few years. All I can hope for is that they felt nothing but love and received everything they ever wanted in my care.

You have made the majority of that happen. Without your support we would not be where we are today. I can't Thank you enough for the outpouring of love over the last twenty for hours.

If you still would like to make a contribution we would greatly appreciate it. You can also make a commitment to sponsor Miss Mia in her final
years🐽

We are currently experiencing a difficult time due to the loss of two beloved pigs, Boo and Maxwell. I personally am going through a down in the dumps phase and these losses haven't helped.

The financial burden of caring for our animals has been challenging and I had to charge feed for the first time since January. Donations have drastically declined anyway, but I just haven't felt like asking. Weird, I know. I also feel like it's annoying to constantly ask. We have been covering what we can with our personal funds just to not have to ask constantly. It costs two-hundred dollars per day to feed here and our most recent water bill was over five hundred dollars. Obviously, the majority of that goes to the rescue to ensure they have access to fresh water and mud holes for keeping cool.

I had to get my teeth fixed to the tune of almost four grand so we personally just didn't have it. Charging isn't fun because of course I owe that now on top of having to come up with the funds for daily care.

We have the hoof trimmer coming tomorrow, so that is additional needed funds.

Our pigs are our top priority, but we just can't do it alone. We have hung on for dear life for nine years. Nearly every person who has asked us to take a pig either through surrender of their own or a message or tag about a situation has dumped us. The pigs are still here, but the help and support is not. Every volunteer we have had either through helping with fundraising or physical help from time to time has dumped us. I have very little family and almost zero friends. It's depressing.

Physical help is neither here nor there. I got this for as long as I am able. The pigs have to eat and we do what we can on our own. We just need help.

It has been nearly two months since Sassy was adopted. She and Olive are inseparable besties now. Sassy was with us for five years before being adopted and we couldn't be happier for her 💛

We also have four pigs going back home in the next couple of weeks who have been with us for three years while their mom had some personal issues going on. We are happy for them that they will get to spend the remainder of their lives with their family.

It's time to fill up our feed fund again. With your help, our animals will get to enjoy what they love the most for another week. Food is their favorite, so let's keep them happy and healthy 😊

We spend $1462.40 each and every week. We also just had an over $500 water bill we could use help with 😏 Help us reach our goal 👏

🥳your comments help our posts get seen🥳

Bentley celebrated his ninth birthday yesterday with cupcakes brought home by his dad after a long day of work. Surrendered to us due to aggression, Bentley has been part of our family for nearly a year. Despite his occasional outbursts, we love him just the same.

You can still help Bentley celebrate today by making a contribution in his name.

Y'all have been lifesavers, literally. We have been able to be a safe haven for pigs for going on nine years now. With your help, we have been able to save over two thousand pigs. That number includes our current residents, the residents who have sadly passed on and all of our adoptees.

Pretty amazing, right?

Pigs like Bentley would not have had a safe place to go, if it weren't for your support and kindness.

We are constantly trying to keep all of the bellies full. I realize sometimes you may just not have it to give and sometimes it's the algorithm and you simply don't see the need.

We have an easy way to combat the latter. When you sign up for a monthly sponsorship, it's automatic. This ensures that your donation reaches us every single month. No having to remember, no algorithm in the way, just one happy pig every single month. We ask for twenty-five a month, but it truly can be any amount.

If you would like to make a pig smile like this every month, become a monthly sponsor.

Last Thursday, we lost a precious member of our family. Big in size and heart, Boo was one of our largest and best boys. With zero qualms, I jumped right into the trailer upon his arrival. He was intact and severely malnourished, yet still huge compared to our mostly little pig rescue. Only two of our boys have since caught up to him to date.

To our knowledge, Boo was around nine or ten years old, and we had the privilege of sharing six incredible years with him. He will be sorely missed for years to come.

If you are able, make a contribution in honor of Boo today. Our feed fund is low and it would make a huge difference.

Finding adopters for adult pigs is hard. Introducing pigs is hard and makes most people nervous. With much patience, Sassy's new mom did beautifully and Sassy and Olive are the cutest little besties 💗

I'm kidding, kinda 😉

This heat has been brutal. It's been so hot that even my phone overheats outside. We are getting a break from it this week and there's even some rain in the forecast 🌧

We did get to have a couple of watermelon parties that the pigs enjoyed 😋

We are in need of feed funds for this week's pick up. Any amount is greatly appreciated. The total needed is $1.400.

Without your support, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. Thank you!

When considering adding a second pig, some can't get past the fear of introductions. Pigs are not the kindest to one another upon first meeting. They fight for top hog and it can get pretty rough.

I usually send my adopters a video to show them exactly what could happen. I typically choose a really bad one and tell them that it could be that bad, but likely won't.

Sassy went home two weeks ago today. She and Olive are through their introduction period and you can see them here napping together after breakfast.

If you are considering adding a second pig, it can and almost always works out beautifully. We have so many pigs seeking their forever homes. Please consider giving your pig their new best friend 🧡

Dear ,

It was a pretty grueling weekend trying to keep everyone cool in the heat. Pigs can overheat so easily if you aren't super careful and stay on top of constant cool water, shade, and mud for them.

While feeding is exhausting, heavy, and a bit dramatic, providing water here is actually harder and takes the longest. It's also pretty expensive in the Summer months.

Without a well, our consumption climbs to $800-$1000 a month. We've had the water company stop and ask us to make sure we don't have a leak.

Viking is soaking up the fresh water after some mudhole work dad did yesterday in our big kid area.

Please help us combat this heat by helping us provide constant fresh water to the residents. Without it, they can overheat and it becomes a dire situation.

Britta with your wonderful update ❤️

We sent out a plea with a goal of $750 today and have already raised over half. Your unwavering support is always so refreshing.

We still need $320 to meet the goal for two pallets of food for our residents to be picked up in the morning.

Did you know that two pallets only lasts us a few days? That's right, we feed 8,000 pounds of food each week.

When you take initiative to send us your hard earned money, you are helping us care for pigs like Britta.

Isn't she a doll? Britta would also love to have her very own sponsor each month 🐽

No. Thank you, though. We only rescue pigs here sir 🐍So far, we have received $185 of our goal of $750. Thoink you 🐽

‼️ we have received $145 already!!!‼️

Only $605 to go 🐷❤️🐷

Help us keep Harley's cheeks chubby.

Each time you contribute to our feed fund, you help ensure that pigs like our Harley get the nourishment they need and require to stay healthy.

We are in need of two pallets of feed that we can pick up tomorrow. The amount needed is $750.

That is eighty bags of food. Less than $10 buys 50 pounds, so you don't have to send a huge amount to make a difference.

Yesterday was Sassy's day.

Sassy was a resident here for approximately five years and she's as close to perfection as they come. She's a petite girl with a giant mohawk and sunny disposition.

When I happened across a post several weeks back of Olive's mom in search of a companion for her, it was my opinion that Sassy was the perfect candidate. Olive had always been a lone pig and after moving across the United States to Tennessee earlier this year, she felt it was time for Olive to have a new family member.

Other than a little bit of scuffling, which is completely normal, things are going beautifully.

As much as we will miss her, Sassy will spend the remainder of her years being spoiled rotten, with endless love, grass to munch on and snacks galore. She couldn't have landed herself in a better home.

One week shy of eight years ago I picked up Trixie and brought her "home". This was never meant to be her forever home. She has had some "up for adoption" posts here and there throughout the years.

Today was Trixie's day to become one of only two pigs, instead of one of hundreds. Trixie has always been a special girl and I specifically chose her when I was asked about a companion for six year old pig, Elliott.

I will miss Trixie sorely, but not enough to prevent her a life of luxury and spoiling that a busy Sanctuary can't always provide🩷

Happy Saturday!

Meet Porkers! While he has that name, we did not name him. When he was an intake in 2017, he was already several years old so we did not change it.

Porkers was an intake with his "wife" LuLu and daughter Hamala. All three were so obese, special crates had to be built for transport.

He is the sweetest, gentlest boy. He follows me everywhere just to get some pets. Now, at ten years old, he is seeking a sponsor to help him enjoy his senior years.

Sponsoring one of our residents is super easy. Ask us how.

Did you know that every $10 donation we receive purchases one whole bag of feed? For such a small amount, you can help us greatly.

Happy Friday!

It's a hot one already. My days will now be spent making sure everyone stays cool. I don't worry near as much in winter unless it's super cold.

Pigs can overheat very easily in the Summer heat. I have to be more careful about the times that I feed, etc... as to not feed anyone in the heat of the day.

We aren't just feeding a few pigs here, so it's not as simple as me going out at 6am and feeding everyone real quick before it gets hot. There's one of me and hundreds of them and I need breaks 🥵

This time of year we not only need help with our normal costs. Feed is a huge one but in the hot months our water bill is upwards of eight hundred dollars keeping everyone cool and super hydrated.

Please help us care for everyone.

These two gentlemen are adopted and will head to their new home in East Tennessee next week. I am so excited for them 💙

Archie is smiling most of the time because he always gets what he needs here.

I don't want to tell him that we are $400 shy of being able to grab the feed to finish out the week here.

You can help with that by sending any amount to our feed fund.

I have been focusing more on trying to get sponsors so I don't have to ask constantly, but apparently that didn't work 🙃

Emmie Lou is an older gal and one of our long term residents. She has the sweetest disposition and is an all around gem.

Although I love her so, I would consider adopting her to the most perfect family. And I do mean perfect 👌

Until then, would you consider being Emmie Lou's sponsor mom or dad?

We ask for sponsorships to help offset the cost of caring for everyone here. When you step up as a member of our sponsorship program, you are providing a monthly contribution towards our feed bill.

We make sponsoring easy. Ask us how to sponsor Emmie Lou or one of her friends.

Pignelope 🐽

Pignelope is looking for a home that will accept her exactly how she is. A brat 😂 Just kidding, but she does have a bit of an attitude. That's only because she's shy, though.

Pignelope was an intake back in January and since we have tons of other pigs here, she just hasn't had the chance to really let her personality shine. I mean, it shines alright while she's running around here like she's big with everyone else, lol. We just want for her to have a family of her very own.

If you have an open space in your heart and home for a shy little girl, consider adopting Pignelope. I promise once she's in a home setting with more one on one and lots of patience, she will come around and be a little love bug.
