WE NEED FOSTERS PLEASE!!!! Or potential permanent homes for SIX pugs!! The male and female are bonded and will stay together.

We have a bonded pair (male and female) about 8 years old that we previously adopted to a family who can no longer care for them. They are an adorable couple and are very sweet!

We don’t have many details about the 4 neutered males yet except that their owner is no longer able to take care of them. I’ll share details as soon as I know more.

Good afternoon, pug friends! We have a special pug that we are helping to rehome who has already been rescued from a sad situation. She's about 2.5 and learning to be a pug. However, it's been determined that she should be an only pug or in a home without another female dog. A very sweet girl who just requires some extra patience and love as she adjusts to the good life. Definitely needs a fenced yard as she is quite quick (though, as most pugs, responds to the word "treat")! I have been contacting people on our waitlist, but if you might be interested, please reach out or fill out an application on our website.

Hi!! I haven’t been around for a while and wanted to share a quick explanation of what I’ve been doing.

Many of you know I’ve been fighting cancer for the past few years, especially since last Fall, and I haven’t been helping with the rescue very much at all. Thankfully, Kerri Roscoe Rios has done a great job filling in for me and making sure the pugs are getting the help they need. The other Board Members have also helped when needed.

Currently, I’m dealing with some issues from radiation but my doctors think I should fully recover by early August. I have frequent checkups with great doctors so I’m doing what they want and staying positive throughout the process. The surgeries have gone well and I’m considered cancer-free at this point. YAY!!!!!

I’ll be slowly catching up with what’s been happening while I’ve been away and will start getting involved again as I continue feeling better over the next few months.

Thank you Kerri, Andra and Tiffany and all of you who have kept me in your prayers and wished me well!!

Is anyone dealing with a pug who has a collapsing trachea? I’m going through it with my almost 15 year old Maggie and have learned a lot throughout the process. I’ll be happy to put the info together in a document I can share if anyone needs it.

Hi, friends! Meet Rochele and Rocko, they are 6-8 months old and weigh about 10 lbs. They both have issues with their hind ends, Rochele not using one leg while Rocko appears to be constantly crouching. They are still very active regardless, and are friendly but have no interest in being held until they tire out. We will be setting up appointments with our vet for further understanding of the issue. Until then, we are looking for a foster. Please reach out if you have fostered for us or have an application on file. We are pleased to report that Milo is settling in nicely in his new home and now has two pug siblings to match his energy and playfulness. Nashville Pug Rescue assisted his former owners throughout the re-homing process by reviewing applications, checking vet references, doing a home visit and providing transportation. Milo is much loved, and has a great life ahead of him.

We are assisting in rehoming Milo. He’s 2.5 years old and very sweet! He’s very active and loves to run around, play ball, and play tug of war with just about anything! He’s very high energy, but loves to sit on the couch and be petted for hours on end. He does have some special needs- neurological delays and has to drink water from a special bottle to keep from aspirating. He gets along great with people and other animals, but because of his delays he tends to not understand boundaries with dogs bigger than him. Our organization relies on donations from our wonderful friends. These donations cover all expenses- food, beds, leashes & harnesses, vet care including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and other significant health concerns there may be before a Pug can be adopted. We cannot do these things without you! Please consider us for this year's Giving Tuesday. You can also create your own fundraisers as many have done, maybe in memory or honor of friends, family, or beloved pugs such as Max & Sam here who lived to be 20, pictured with their glorious mom Christine. Elvis, aka Elvie, came to us in a very malnourished and disregarded state. Little by little we have been nursing him back to health. Even though he is 15, he is full of life and the leader of the pack. He now loves cuddles, lines up for treat time, runs with joy at the sight of his leash and loves to lay out in the sun. Recently Elvis has has some complications with off the chart liver enzymes. While we have ruled out cancer, we are still searching to solve this issue. So we are asking this Wednesday to donate whatever you can to give Elvis whatever time he has left!

We are very sad to share that, Katie Patton, one of our biggest supporters and recent rescue mom to a pug she adopted from us, unexpectedly passed away.

Katie volunteered for us and would always help with anything we needed because she loved pugs and wanted to help improve the lives of every pug that came to us. We will miss her very much. 💔

QUICK UPDATE - 4/12 Elvis saw Dr. Brummett today and, with the medications he prescribed yesterday, Elvis has not had a seizure in 24 hours!! That’s great news because the goal was to break the cycle of seizures. He’s still struggling with some confusion and disorientation at times but he’s MUCH better than yesterday! Now we just need to pay his vet bills so we would appreciate any donation you can make. ❤️❤️❤️

Our sweet 15 year old Elvis has been having multiple seizures over the past few days and has been to Nashville Veterinary Specialists twice because of the seizures. It’s likely that he has inflammation in his brain but the vets aren’t sure if the inflammation was caused by the seizures or if he has a brain tumor that’s causing the inflammation and seizures.

He’s back at home with his foster being treated for the seizures and closely monitored in case he has another seizure or any other problems.

We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for our little guy. He came to us as a stray who had obviously been on his own for a while. I’m guessing he was dumped because of his health issues so I’m just happy we got him when we did and can at least show him love and what it’s like to be a part of a family for whatever time he has left.

The first picture is him sleeping soundly tonight after a busy 24 hours at the vet. ❤️

We need a volunteer to pick up two pugs just south of Chattanooga and bring them to Nashville. If you’re up for a road trip this week or weekend (before 4/10), please let us know. I have crates you can borrow for the trip if needed.
