I know we don't treat horses here at our practice but follow the UT College of Veterinary Medicine on Facebook to watch the amazing progress of this little guy. Born premature, he is beating the odds. And consider donating to the College during Big Orange Give, a day of fundraising. Donations go to students, support teaching, assist injured wildlife, and a host of other programs. The link is below.

Good advice on selecting a cat carrier. I think you should always consider covering the carrier with a towel or blanket to muffle noise and provide some privacy.

Making your home a haven of comfort and accessibility is crucial when caring for a cat who is getting older, is experiencing pain, or has mobility problems. Signs your cat’s environment may need changes include reduced mobility and activity, grooming habits, personality changes, and bathroom problems. Making just small changes can improve your cat’s quality of life. Read up on tips to modify your home environment at https://bit.ly/4afOqIa.

Shout out to our AMAZING veterinary receptionists, Maddie and Erika! They are kind and caring and make everyone feel welcomed. Well, except for the two inebriated fellows that caused a ruckus yesterday afternoon (seriously, what makes you think it is okay to drink schnapps in our reception area?). They turned into bouncers and sent those "gentlemen" on their way!

It's Veterinary Receptionist Week! 💕 A huge shout-out to our amazing CSRs who keep our clinics running smoothly. They're the first smiling faces our clients see, and they go above and beyond every day.

✨Tag a CSR that deserves some extra recognition this week!

With the freezing rain coming later this afternoon (and most of our afternoon appointments wisely calling to cancel), we will be closing at 4 PM to allow our staff to get home.

We plan to be open for our regular hours on Friday. It is Tennessee and the weather could change from hour to hour...so stay tuned!

01/18/2024

Good morning! We plan to be open our regular hours on January 18 and 19th (Thursday and Friday). Our office opens at 8 AM and closes at 6 PM.

We will be back to appointments again. Please call and schedule an appointment.

It looks like this afternoon is going to be primarily a rain event, but we know that the weather can be unpredictable and if it turns icy, we may have to close early.

Update for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17th. We will be open from 10 AM to 4 PM. We think these hours will allow for the worst of the sub-zero wind chills to subside (a little) and get people home before dark and more bone chilling temperatures hit again Wednesday night.

We will be working with only a very few staff tomorrow. Please be patient and there may be times where we have to turn on the answering machine.

We've got a few spaces cleared for parking and the entrance is snow free. However, it was already starting to refreeze in some spots at 4:30. I suspect it will be quite icy in the morning. Be careful.

Some driving tips: avoid Paragon Mills Road. It never gets plowed and it is a very icy uphill next to the clinic. Kudos to NDOT for a good job plowing Nolensville Road. It is pretty clear (as was Harding Place). The problem is that snowplows push the ice and snow over to the curb and create a wall of ice at the entrance to our parking lot. It's a bit of a bumpy ride, but it's manageable.

Really, if you don't have to be out, it would be best to stay home, but we will be here if you need us!

01/15/2024

Due to the hazardous weather conditions, we will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th. We will hope for opening back up on Wednesday. Check back for updates and thank you for your patience.

01/15/2024

Due to snow, we will be closed today (and likely tomorrow, too.) We apologize for any inconvenience but the safety of our clients, staff and your pets is our priority. If you can, please stay off the roads.
