Just a dog.
From time to time people tell me “chill out, it’s just a dog” or “it’s a lot of money just for a dog.” They don't understand the distance traveled, the time invested, or the costs incurred by "just a dog".
Some of my proudest moments have occurred with “just a dog.”
Many hours have passed being my only company "just a dog", but not for one moment did I feel despised. Some of my saddest moments have been because of “just a dog,” and on those gray days, the gentle touch of “just a Dog” gave me comfort and the reason to get through the day.
If you also think “it’s just a dog”, then you’ll probably understand phrases like “just a friend”, “just a sunrise” or “just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
For "just a dog" I will get up early, take long walks and look forward to the future. So for me and people like me, it’s not “just a dog,” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the memories of the past, and the absolute joy of the moment. “Just a dog” brings out the good in me and takes my thoughts away from myself and daily worries.
I hope one day they can understand that it’s not “just a dog”, but the one that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog”, just smile because they “just don’t get it”.

In shelters dark, where whispers fade,
A silent plea, a soul betrayed.
Among the cages, eyes implore,

I can't stress this enough.....RESEARCH the breed you are thinking about getting. They don't always stay tiny and adorable. And they cost money to properly care for them. Shots, attention, spay/neuter, attention, food, attention, what are you going to do when you suddenly want a weekend get away or vacation? sitter/walker...etc. please do not get that cute puppy/kitten if you are not in it for the long haul....10-20 yrs in most cases.

As of 4pm today Butch and I will have been married 34 years. It's been a journey of fun, laughter, tears, travel, new experiences bad and good, births, deaths, weddings, divorces, new friends, illnesses, COVID, and the best family (some biological some not) etc....but it has been a journey I wouldn't have wanted to share with anyone else. Tonight will will enjoy it with some of the best people I know my classmates of 1980. HAPPY 34TH ANNIVERSARY BUTCHIE

It's 3am and the "Princess" wakes us up cause her (our) bed has Lumps in it....so all 5 of us (2 hoomans 3 4leggers) get out of bed.
Pix 1) All 3 of them watch as Butch and I make up the Bed and get lumps out.....
Pix 2) would you hurry I'm really sleepy...
3nd pix) why are the lights still on mom I really me to get my "beauty sleep"....
4th pix) Everyone nice and cozy and back to sleep except mom..
Mom has all 3 4 leggers laying on her...she makes the bestest pillow , ,

Just caught this very full little guy in a dog food bucket....guess what I did to/with him?
1)kill him
2) save him for a friend that has a snake
3) set him free in woods
4) gave to neighbors cat to play with

Despite the bad weather early in the day.....Had great time at Michelle's Annual 4th of July celebration....great food, family, friends, games, swimming, fireworks, keeps getting bigger and better. Can't wait til the next one.

ATTENTION PET OWNERS!! THE TEMPS ARE GETTING HOTTER AND THAT MEANS OUTSIDE SURFACES ARE GETTING HOTTER.....THIS MEANS DANGER FOR PETS PAWS.....I keep a surface thermometer in my pet walking bag and frequently check the surfaces. Today's surfaces are way too hot to allow your pet to be on them. Believe it or not deck temps can heat up too. I have attached a pix of my road and my deck...my deck is actually HOTTER. IF IN DOUBT USE THE 7 SEC RULE. PLACE THE BACK OF YOU HAND ON THE SURFACE IF YOU CAN'T HOLD IT THERE FOR 7-10 SECS ITS TOO HOT. .With the humidity being so high its also dangerous for them to stay outside for more than 5-10 mi. DO NOT LEAVE ANY PET IN A CAR WITHOUT COOL AIR CIRCULATING.

Went out on pier 14 (I think) did some people watching....this one couple (black and teal shirt and grey jacket)kept showing up everywhere I went talking about having a stalker...had to get Ice cream....I think I wore more of mine than I ate. Got up early one morning to watch the sun come up and learned how to search for shark teeth I found one (actually 2 but didn't think it was a tooth threw it down and guy came by and picked it up said this is what one looks like)

So Butch and I was given the opportunity to take a vacation with David and Cathy Mueller and we decided to go for it. With the help from Ernest Wilson (keeping the fort down at home) to several of my dear friends support we were able to have a much needed vacation. Will post several pictures taken over the last 10 days

Most parents get woke up by kids crawling in bed. We wake up to our fur babies craving in bed with us. Truly a "pack of love". Loving my life. Nash has to hold my hand his eyes show so much unconditional love. Apollo is hugging me with one paw behind my neck a other on my chest. My Grandpets... Sammy and Snuggles are laying on top of me....they don't know they are going home to a new home mom and dad have been moving all weekend. , , , ,

It is breaking my heart to not be allowed to provide day-care or overnight care any longer in my home. I have provided care for individuals whom were homeless, victims of abuse, victims whom lost their homes to fires, flooding, other natural disasters, individuals getting their feet on the ground and couldn't afford to pay for someone to care for their pets, several in the entertainment business I cared for many with special needs (meds, foods, insulin shots etc) that owners cant get in other places.....but most of all....was able to care for many essential workers pets during the pandemic. I took on several new pets just during this time. These pets and their families have become like our family members. It is breaking our hearts to know we can no longer care for them. I will still be doing drop in and walking. Thank you for you support and understanding. Please keep in touch and please bring the pets by for a visit. We love you all. Due to both of us having limited income (Butch retired myself applied for disability) this was how we have been able to survive for the past five years. Not sure what the future holds.
