Meet Mona!

Mona is a sweet and energetic pitbull, about 5 1/2 years old, rescued by William in 2019. Due to his roommate’s recent mental health issues, William had to move suddenly, and unfortunately, Mona’s breed is restricted in his new complex.

Mona loves to play and cuddle and is full of life. She may need some time to warm up to other big dogs and isn’t the best with small dogs. Mona will be spayed and up-to-date on all her vaccines.

We’re building a network where people can request help for pets in need, and volunteers can offer their assistance.

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN'T SPREAD COLD WATER WITH AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON ITS BACK? !! ️.
HERE'S THE INSTRUCTION OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO..

Animal lovers, never make the mistake of pouring cold water overheated dog or putting a wet towel on its back. You will see the opposite effect.

Due to cold, the veins contract and due to high temperatures (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood collide, causing the blood to become thick and tight.

Due to the combination of these two factors, blood stops entering the heart and organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.
The result is a very slow but very painful death.

If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, it will die anyway.

First give him lukewarm water to drink, then cool his feet and chest/belly with a wet towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a wet towel!!!

Sharing is highly desirable because time and time again we see footage of overheated dogs exiting a car with water spilled on their backs.

As we brace ourselves for the first bitter winter blast here inTennessee, all rescues and shelters are working around the clock. I urge you to keep your eyes open, and if you see a pet in need, report it. If you get no action, report it again. Step out of your comfort zone.. Talk to the owners.. Offer to keep their pets in your home if they aren’t wiling to. This is dangerous weather, and we all need to speak for those with no voice.
If you are able to foster, PLEASE reach out to us or submit our online application “ tonight” as lives are at stake. My heart breaks for those who will suffer the agony of freezing to death or getting frost bitten.
