Jesus very practically teaches the qualifications for inheriting the kingdom of God when He states, “I was hungry, and you fed me.” Our mandate to feed the hungry has not changed in 2000 years, and it must remain our priority now! Cul2vate seeks to engage poverty at the point of hunger and deliver nutritional food to those who are hungry. Our work is founded upon two principles intertwined for the

betterment of its farmers. The first is the most important - providing for the nourishment of the body and the soul! Through the food production in our “tunnels”, we are decreasing the food desert in Middle Tennessee by growing superior quality vegetables and increasing nutritional accessibility to those who are hungry. The second principle creates an opportunity for future full-time employment for our farmers by providing much needed life skills and business skills training. These tunnel sites are the training grounds for those who want to break the generational cycle of poverty by learning to feed themselves and others through agriculture and employment.

Today we're celebrating our Cul2vators born in June! Bobby, who celebrated his birthday on June 7th, is funny and fun-loving. His laugh brightens all of our days. Jermaine celebrated on June 15th, he's so hard-working and dedicated. He's always ready to share a great insight and have interesting conversations with everyone around him. Happy birthday guys! Tennessee Pasture to Plate understands that grocery shopping can be difficult and time-consuming. By providing subscription boxes from local farms and producers, they introduce Middle Tennesseans to the rich agricultural and culinary landscape of our community. In Pasture to Plate's boxes, you can find fresh produce we grow right here at Cul2vate, along with items from other local partners.

This June through September, Tennessee Pasture to Plate is partnering with Cul2vate to fight hunger in our community! They will match all donations made by TN Pasture to Plate customers to Cul2vate’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program — up to $100 per month — helping provide fresh, farm-grown food to neighbors in need.
