When doing your garden planning, the most important two dates are the frost dates for your area. The Almanac.com website includes a very handy frost date calculator. It tells you when your area is likely to have a light freeze of 29-32 degrees. All you do is put in your zip code. For the Nashville area the last spring light freeze is predicted for April 7 and the first autumn light freeze is predicted for October 25. That gives us a 200 day growing season for 2025.

Community is powerful—that’s why we value strategic partners like Urban Housing Solutions, Inc. (UHS), who share our goal of ensuring everyone has equitable access to food and housing.

Each month, our Mobile Market visits two UHS locations, where dedicated volunteers from Belmont and Vanderbilt help distribute food to neighbors facing barriers to both nutritious meals and affordable housing. We’re especially grateful for UHS representatives who serve as community ambassadors, volunteering alongside us to support their neighbors.

To further expand our impact, we also provide these two UHS locations with food boxes for their on-site pantries and participate in UHS outreach events across their properties, helping even more people connect with SNAP benefits.
