Here’s Dolly Fonda celebrating her 5th birthday. Wasn’t sure she would get there a couple weeks ago. Dolly Fonda has chirrosis of the liver and was struggling a couple months ago. She’s now thriving and living her best life as a rescued Great Dane girl here with her rescue brother Rolo. They are quiet players. (Checkout videos in comments!) Shout out to all those that rescue large or small and love these babies through thick and thin. Dolly Fonda and Rolo both have had major health issues and are now loved beyond measure. Happy Weekend Everyone.
Hope for those local in Nashville you get to stay dry if participating or attending outdoor events today such as the steeplechase 🐎 or concerts/festivals. Gonna be a rainy one!!
Just have to brag on some happy furbabies though😌🐾😌
These two patients were in teeth cleanings  on Thursday morning.  Both had some diseased teeth needing extraction and both recovered great from their procedure.  I received these photos after they arrived back home in the afternoon. Makes my heart happy when I can make a difference in the health of patients.  Their smiles say it all.  Hope keeps a smile for you on this rainy/stormy weekend!

Here’s a giggle for you… this is Bauer. He’s 5.3lb Papillon puppy. He was neutered yesterday and I sent home with usual post surgery care. His owner sent me these pics this morning. Way to enjoy a nap in the sunshine during your healing baby boy.  Enjoy convalescing.  Everyone Happy Easter. May you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating with family and friends.🐣🐰

Well, had an evaluation for the Ferris man this morning at VOS (Veterinary Ophthalmology Services, Nashville) with Dr Huskey. His cataracts are progressing some and he had a trauma to one of his corneas from likely running in to something on his walkabout jaunts in the yard. So he had a little procedure and acquired his hat accessory to wear and all will be well in a few weeks. Thank you Dr. Huskey! Never fear this will not detract from Ferris’s duties as president of the Middle TN Chapter of the P**p 💩 Eating Club. Chive on….

Looking for a home for this little spitfire.  I took him in a couple weeks ago from a loving family but it just wasn’t the right environment for him. He’s got some sass and spice but he needs a loving home where he can be the top dog.  He was in a home with children and it wasn’t the best set up.  I’ve nicknamed him Rico Suave.  He’s 21/2 years of age. I recently neutered him and he is up to date on vaccinations.
He needs some continued leash training but is crate trained.

Have you ever been to the doctors office and really didn’t want to be weighed??? Well, Bruce (my precious Labrador Retriever patient) was doing everything to avoid getting on the scale yesterday.  He’s a big(huge) lump of love grabbed the soft pad to stand on the scale thinking he would avoid having to be weighed.  Well, unfortunately you did get weighed Bruce!  Eric and I love all of you!  Hopefully you will be more accepting for this part of your exam on our next visit.  🐾💛🐾

I saw this brother and sister week before last. They are indoor only cats and had a flea problem develop unexpectedly,  Beaux turned out to be allergic and was itchy and pulling out hair. Where Roux was vomiting and likely stressing over Beaux.
Don’t forget indoor pets like cats. You can track in flea eggs/dirt and adults from critters passing through yard or from visiting friends with pets.
We recommend Bravecto for 3month treatment for fleas and making home care like vacuuming and cleaning bottom of shoes a priority.
Just a little pearl of wisdom for the holidays and winter if it’s finally arrived….. 🐾🎄🎁 🕎 🐾

My treat monger is back!! Eric has had some periods of time out of the office recently for family and now he’s back!!  I know my patients and clients are happy to see him with me as I am.

Ferris…. My boy turns 15 years old today!! He loves the naps, p**p eating, smiling for the camera most of the time and making every day his joy in life to make it his greatest time eating, sleeping and being the king of all he surveys… life moves pretty fast. Hope it slows down now for the twilight of my boy’s life. Savor the time you have with your furry babies. It is all too short.

Happy Hump Day!  
This summer has caught me off guard, and I’m literally chasing the tail end to try to catch up on a daily basis.  I think the heat and humidity have worn us all down!  Like my largest client Henry, the Old English Mastiff (175lbs), he’s got the right idea to stick his tongue out to this weather.  
Hydrate often, stay cool and be careful with your pets outside in this oppressive heat!

Your neighbors may think you are crazy, but when it means your dog remains quiet, content and prevents physical issues… who cares what other people think. This client who placed this on her stoop said it’s a “game changer!”  Kudos to this idea.  I would promote this too.   Thought I would share for those - something like this might help with your pets challenges.

She’s the happy Flower girl  for this lovely dog.  She hit the jackpot!  “June Bug” is from a Bernese Rescue Group and her foster is now going to adopt this precious girl.  I think Biscuit her new sibling brother is super happy to have a look like friend and housemate.  Hope your weekend is a great one.

We had Nipper (20yrs old) showing us the correct way for a portrait pic of napping near sunlight,  Patches(9 yr old) giving finer points on play and cuteness and Clea (18 yr old Devon Rex) getting her Garfield look on.
