Our Vader, the albino ferret crossed the rainbow bridge today. The hardest part about working with such amazing animals is having to say goodbye to the animals that we love and grew such strong bonds with. Forever in hearts, you will be missed ❤️

Some raccoon facts ⬇️
🦝Raccoons are known as omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. Some of their favorite foods include fruit such as apples and berries, as well as frogs, rodents and insects
🦝Both a raccoon’s front and rear paws resemble a human hand, featuring five slender, finger-like toes that enable them to easily manipulate food and objects
🦝A group of raccoons is called a nursery or a gaze. Some dens contain up to thirty raccoons, although it is more common for them to contain around four

Some of the animals had to go see the doctor for their annual shots. I was SO IMPRESSED with them! Cocoa, the raccoon, was stealing hearts of the staff at Covenant Care Animal Hospital while being super friendly and cooperative getting her shots. I was mostly impressed with our shy girl, Faye, the bat eared fox! She typically hates being held, but did so amazing at the clinic that I had to get a quick picture!

Say hello to Daisy ♥️
Daisy is our female capybara. She’s started to settle in to her outdoor enclosure where she enjoys her human cuddles while still getting to be with her capybara boyfriend Doug!
Daisy is still working on her socialization for outreach visitations!

Caine and Chloe, our coatimundi definitely love their tire swing! Something as simple as hanging used tires or other items can be a great form of enrichment for our exotics.
One mans trash are these coatimundis treasure ❤️🥰

❗️NOT A PET, SHE IS A PERMANENT TPWD AND USDA LICENSED FACILITY RESIDENT❗️

Cocoa, our raccoon just loves her cuddles and socializing time! Socialization is a key part in our care for her. She imprinted on humans which resulted in her being deemed non releasable. The upkeep of socialization and interaction is important for her to maintain for the ease of husbandry related tasks and seeing the vet as needed.
Raccoon ownership is still illegal in Texas, as they are native wildlife.
