It’s been one heck of a summer with this crew at the Double C Ranch. They rolled in before 5AM almost everyday. We rode some rank dogs and smooth gaiters this summer. We all hit the ground a few times pushing our limits and we all got better. I’ll take this crew now and challenge anyone!!!

We had a nice final trail ride to wrap up the summer. It was a good one here are a few picks.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to provide horses to an outstanding group of young ladies for a day of fun on the farm.

Silverado, Valley and Rebel made trusted partners for the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team!!

We can’t brag enough on what a great group these girls are. Not only are they some of the nations top female athletes, but they were gracious, respectful, down to earth and an all around great group to spend the afternoon with!!

Let’s geaux Tigers!!! 🐅🏀🐴

Please Share for Kids who love horses.

Due to the high volume of people asking we will resume horseback riding lessons at the Double C Ranch in Natchez in 2 weeks. We will have a limited number of spots for kids of any age.

Once we fill up the group, kids will be paired in groups based on age, skill, and experience to maximize time in the saddle.

Our arena has full shade til about 11AM so all lessons will be in the mornings to make it easier on both people and horses. We will utilize our main arena and round pen, and some days may include ground and riding training in our Obstacle Course.

All kids will ride our trained horses. If you want to bring your horse for lessons it must be pre-approved by David Carter.

All lessons will be taught by our experienced instructors. There will never be more than 3 kids per instructor at any time.

This isn’t group riding like ranch camp so kids will be doing much more individualized and advanced riding and will learn more and do more in a shorter time frame.

Lessons will be Monday-Thursday with Friday reserved for make ups.

Lessons will be 55 minutes 1 day a week. (2 days is an option)

All lessons are $45 a day. This includes, horse, tack, helmets, instructor, and facilities.

First date will be July 8.

We reassembled some of the posse tonight at the Double C Ranch. Had our golden boy Keagan Brown in town so we did some c**t starting. (Hate I didn’t get any pics or video) the men did plenty of roping and working the cutting flag. Matt Kaiser was on fire with his loop and Alex Patterson always sit on ready to start in the next great western movie!

St Jude Trail Ride- Postponed

Folks one of the hardest decisions is delaying a good thing and great cause. After meeting with our local Emergency Management and having calls with the State Weather Service. It appears highly probable of bad weather Friday night into Saturday. While we have a team of people helping make this decision, it is ultimately my decision and I hope it is the right one based on all scenarios.

This is based on being courteous to the landowners we will ride on and and for the benefit of those confirmed traveling from as far as Tennessee and Texas. It is also based on the night music as an outdoor experience at the Double C Ranch. We needed to make a decision before tomorrow when travel plans were set for many people coming in to spend the night.

We have confirmed our bands are committed to a later date and all trail designs will be as good or better for our new date, once confirmed.

I appreciate all the friends from Louisiana and Mississippi and those who committed to coming even further for the support of this cause. Info will be coming out very soon on how you can still support our main purpose of the ride, help Lilly Anne Bryan in her fight❤️.

2024 Double C Ranch Camp! After last years sucess we will offer 2 weeks of Ranch Camp this summer. Both weeks will allow kids to live life on the ranch.

They will ride horses, shoot archery, feed cows, and chase chickens. They will learn to rope, ride, and do barn chores along with crafts and endless games.

Camp available for 1st-4th graders
$300 a week.

Ranch Camp Dates
Natchez, Mississippi

Camp 1 June 10-14

Camp 2 June 24-28

All days 8:30-12:00

Each camp limited to 20 spots. Spots will go to first 20 PAID.

Most of you have followed Lilly-Anne Bryan in her miraculous journey. She is a fighter and now we are teaming up with St Jude’s to do our part to raise funds to help them out.

All are invited to the trail ride after lunch but that night will be good!

The concert is free! So we invite all the locals out to come see our very own Tyler Gregg and Bryce McGlothin in action followed by the electric Logan Sanders Band all here in Natchez at the Double C Ranch!

We always have a good time at the Double C Ranch when Pat Parelli, Keagan Brown and the crew come through town. Had a few good days to fellowship and hang out. Last night sweet Paige Carter cooked for us all while we roped and rode. Matt Kaiser had a solid showing and always good to get Alex Patterson back in the saddle with us. Harper Carter is getting her roping down with Mary Collins.

We had a great clinic with Cristi Heisman Brunson at the Double C Ranch. All these kids compete in Rodeos across Louisiana and Mississippi and she came in to tune them up and start them right in goat tying and break away roping. It was a long day with this crew. We highly recommend Cristi the kids loved her!!!

Had a good 🐴horse weekend with the girls.

Went to the year end awards ceremony for Feliciana Youth Rodeo Association. Harper was the year end champion for both barrels and flag race. Mary Collins also got some awards but I’m not the best photographer. Paige Carter training program definitely working!

Enjoyed last two nights riding and training with friends after dark.

Honda owners in cold weather

Great River Honda owners customers we have been getting calls about winterizing Honda Pioneers and 4 wheelers. Your units should be fine if the coolant level is adequate and unit is properly serviced.

Of course older carburetor units may take longer to warm up. Tire pressure will go down and batteries may get weak but the units should be Honda tough and ready to go even if left outside.

Who’s ever had to fix fence in the dark? Had a few tress come down break fence so we made a bonfire to stay warm while we had to reattach all 5 strands. Fun life!
