We had the absolute pleasure of hosting 7 Natchitoches Humane Society pups to make sure they were warm and cozy this past weekend. 🥰 Taurah, Nina, Rosie, Lucky, Hex, Buckee , and Diesel were so excited for their little adventure. Lucky went to a foster family to get ready for his trip up North to his furever home and big handsome Diesel is having a sleepover with a new family!!!!! 🎉🎉 But 5 sweet babies went back to Happy Tails this morning. 😔 Taurah, Nina, Rosie, Hex and Buckee would all love to spend some time in loving home. Please help them find a foster or even better their OWN FAMILY 💞💞💞

Looking for a short term foster for 9 four week old pups. The mom will not let them nurse. Would love to find a foster for 2-3 weeks to continue milk supplements and start them on puppy food. The person caring for them now works full time but can bring them back home once they take to solid foods. 7 boys and 2 girls. 🥰

Rusty is incredibly sweet!!! 💞💞 He has some hurdles to get past but he's going to make a great companion for a lucky family. While with us, he showed no aggression towards other dogs or our clinic cat. If anyone is familiar with Mitter, that's huge 🤣🤣

Update 2: We got Rusty in to see Dr. James this morning ❤. He did great in the car and hopefully will decompress a bit while fostering with Jensen and her family! They will do some slow introductions and see how he does in a home environment!

Despite this good news of a life saved, if everyone can put thinking caps on of how to have fewer urgent cases like this (get more folks to spay/neuter, find out of state rescue for pits, raise a ton of money for HW positive dogs) we are all ears!!

Original post: Rusty at Natchitoches Animal Control is scheduled to be destroyed tomorrow. He is 48 #, heartworm positive, had badly cropped ears, sores on his back end from having little movement wherever he was before animal control found him. Despite all this stuff that humans did to him he is friendly, gets along with other dogs and shows no interest in cats. As we are sure you know, our organization is full, mostly of HW positive dogs that are sweet as can be like Rusty. He needs a foster commitment, or at the very least people to be made aware of why our area needs to stop breeding pits or really any dog. We have sent over 300 unwanted dogs this year alone to areas where they have been adopted quickly, and still will kick ourselves for dogs like Rusty we did not get to in time. Crying as we write this post, we hate failing dogs like this and need your help.

BOLO: An owner called this morning. His 2 rottweilers have gone missing. A report with the sheriff's department has been filed. Both are black and tan. Senior Male is intact, microchipped, and blind in one eye. Female is younger. Pictures pending.Owner is getting his daughter to make a post on the animals in need site.
