Thrive Pet Healthcare - Natick A first-of-its-kind pet healthcare network dedicated to helping your pet thrive through every stage of their life

Natick Animal Clinic is a full-service, state-of-the-art, small-animal practice. Our staff includes six general practice veterinarians, one mobile veterinarian for home and nursing home visits and a surgeon. A visiting specialist provides ultrasound and endoscopic imaging services on-site. The clinic focuses on medical, surgical, preventive and dental care and has been accredited by the American A

nimal Hospital Association for more than 50 years, a status that is reserved for only a small number of hospitals nation-wide. We offer a primary care practice model that allows you and your pet to establish a trusting and consistent relationship with your pet’s veterinarian, much like you have with your own family doctor. Nearly every time your pet requires medical attention, your appointment will be with your pet’s primary care veterinarian. Natick provides other pet care services as well, like a contemporary kennel facility with outdoor runs and a grooming salon that pampers both cats and dogs. With this variety of services on the premises, the clinic aims to create an all-encompassing, convenient and customer-friendly experience for our clients. Natick is unique in the community for its reputation for excellence in medical care and for its accommodating seven-day operational schedule. Our practitioners also provide evening on-call services, another unique feature that most general practice hospitals do not provide. After business hours and until 10:00 pm, you can reach one of our staff associates within 30 minutes of calling our answering service.

“My dog and I have moved around a lot, had seen at least 4 different vets. Since she was a puppy she always had sort of a scabby/ inflamed patch on her belly that she regularly licked. Each vet I saw related it to her licking and fungal issue and prescribed a topical treatment, which did help with the redness. I stopped thinking much about it over the years and just used the topical ointment when it got very red. However, when we moved to Elmhurst I took her to go see Dr. Jennifer Draca for a teeth cleaning. Within 12 seconds of a physical assessment, she figured out the actual issue with my dog’s red belly patch. It was a left-over stitch from when the rescue fixed her. This stitch was causing her so much discomfort for 8 years. She removed it during the teeth cleaning and per my request saved the cursed stitch for me in a tube. I am so grateful.” — Gabrielle V. from Thrive Pet Healthcare in Elmhurst, IL

“My elderly cat had a dental with Dr. Nyquist and the care that she received was really excellent. They were conscious of her other health issues and I felt so much better about her undergoing anesthesia with how knowledgeable and caring they were. Both Drs. Nyquist and Lesley the technician were great with communication and I appreciated the time they took to be thorough. Great care overall and I will be bringing my other ancient cat in for a dental with them as well.” — Audry H. from Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner in Round Rock, TX

“It’s been a rough journey for Luca with her blepharitis. Over the months, I’ve visited every board-certified eye specialist in NYC, working tirelessly to treat her autoimmune blepharitis. We tried antibiotics, steroids, a biopsy, culture swabs, and every test they suggested. Despite spending thousands of dollars, I still felt hopeless and lost with her ongoing treatment.

Finding Dr. Wong for a second opinion was the silver lining in this challenging process. I finally feel relieved and confident in her treatment plan. Dr. Wong was incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. She listened attentively to Luca’s treatment history and thoughtfully suggested the best next steps for her. She took the time to patiently explain the reasoning behind her approach, ensuring I fully understood.

I’m so grateful to have found Dr. Wong. Her staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming. I highly, highly recommend her to anyone seeking expert care.” — Jiwon N. from Eye Care for Animals, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner in New York, NY

“From day one, this facility gave me a great sense of caring for the creatures (and humans) that walk through the door. Attention to detail, technique, examination protocol, "patient" intake & registration—I have not seen better! I love my turtles enough to travel from Brooklyn to Manhattan because I know we will receive the care needed at The Center. The staff (Doctors, Boarding Residents, Reception staff) are ALL on point. Don't go any place else—this is the place!” — Donald A. from Center for Exotic and Avian Medicine, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner in New York, NY

“My dog was attacked on a Sunday, so my normal vet was closed. I wanted to get her checked out ASAP. They were open. The waiting room and exam room were spotless. The receptionist moved us to an exam room quickly, so we had a comfortable place to wait to see the tech and vet. I expected that we would need a bit of a wait since it is an emergency room and there were other cars in the parking lot. All the staff was caring, supportive of my concern about my dog, they handled that I was shaken very well. They were very clear setting expectations for wait times since, like I said, it's an emergency room and they have other pets to attend to. My dog was treated, we were sent home with clear care instructions and meds. I have been to emergency vets before and I was expecting a high bill, but it was about half of what I was expecting. Everyone was caring, friendly, and communicated very clearly.” — Allison F. from Pet Specialists of Austin, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner

“I have never LOVED a veterinary clinic before. My words are going to fail me as I try to tell you how awesome this team is. But I’m going to try my best.
In the last two weeks, I’ve had 3 separate issues with my two working dogs. Hometown Veterinary Hospital has provided us with top-notch care in every circumstance.
One of my girls needed an MRI ASAP and the veterinarian on her case got us up to Kansas City by Friday instead of Monday. So much effort went into that!
Then my other girl began vomiting to the point of becoming lethargic. They got me in ASAP and explored all the possibilities for what was wrong with her.
If you want a veterinary practice that goes the extra mile to make sure your dogs get the medical care they need, this is the best place to go.
Lily, Dr. Hilton, and Dr. Mease are the folks I particularly interacted with and I could hug every one of them. I love them all so much. They helped me walk through the scary medical issues I had with my girls. They kept me informed and made sure we had the care we needed.
Thank you, Hometown Vet! You are the best!” —

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease that can be transmissible between humans and pets, and can be fatal in severe cases. Please be sure to discuss this vaccine at your next visit or call the clinic if you have any questions! 508-653-5020. 🐾

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
You can find the full update in the Nov/Dec issue of JAAHA, or check out the full 2022 Canine Vaccination Guidelines here: aaha.org/canine-vaccinations

A Heartfelt Thanks from Your Local Police Department!

We recently received this wonderful message from a local resident and wanted to share the appreciation with the entire community. 💙❤️🐶

"I completely understand why I can’t post this directly to your page, but I wanted to extend a HUGE thanks of gratitude for helping reunite the sweet lost dog with her dad today. This was the post:

I wanted to extend a Huge Thank You toward Sergeant Arena, Officer Kane, and the third wonderful officer (whose name I didn’t catch) for being extraordinarily kind to this sweet girl who was lost today. They spent an extensive amount of time successfully tracking down her owner. It was so heartwarming, and all of you are very much appreciated! Thank you!!”

We are proud to serve such a caring community and are always here to lend a hand when needed. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do! 🐾

Thank you for your support and trust!

Kidney (or renal) disease is very common in dogs and cats, and it may be reversible or permanent based on underlying causes. The disease could be a result of age-related changes to the kidneys, acute injury or toxin ingestion, congenital defects present from birth, or in rare cases, a side effect of some medications. To prevent kidney disease or slow its progression, it's vital to stay regular with wellness visits so that together, we can monitor renal levels with blood work and urinalysis and catch any changes ASAP.
