Bay Colony Tibetan Terrier Club

Bay Colony Tibetan Terrier Club We are a licensed AKC dog club that holds annual dog shows and fun activities in the New England area. SMALL BUT MIGHTY.

Established in the late 60’s, and originally named the Tibetan Terrier Club of New England, we are one of the few AKC recognized Tibetan Terrier Clubs. Although our membership is small we are very fortunate to have had Alice Smith at our helm as President for many years along with many dedicated working members. Bay Colony TT Club hosted the TTCA’s 2010 National Specialty, expertly chaired by JoAn

n Gatzen. Many of our officers and members went above and beyond in their efforts to make the TTCA Specialty, as well as our own 11th Annual BCTTC Specialty, a memorable event for all. Perhaps you had the opportunity to visit New England in the fall of 2003 when Bay Colony was host for the TTCA National Specialty, Agility Trial, the World Congress, and again our own annual Specialty in Sturbridge, Mass. In addition to our annual specialty, we offer a fun match, an eye clinic and raise funds to donate to worthy TT related charities or research organizations. We hope you will plan a visit with us in New England soon.

Doris all groomed and ready for tomorrow's community dog day at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge MA. Doris along with other BCTTC TTs will represent the breed in a "mini" Meet The Breeds organization by the Great Barrington Kennel Club. Thank you Jessica Skibitski for organizing this event for BCTTC.

Full disclosure. I cant guarantee Doris will look like this tomorrow. Little Miss Swamp Rat prefers rolling in odorous matter instead of the smell of grooming products.

No dog shows, no Jamboree, people are isolated, TTs are craving attention. SO please read this entire post.
Bay Colony Tibetan Terrier Club is planning small meet ups and walks for TTFanciers and TTs who want to get together in a safe environment. BCTTC members are volunteering to host events in their area. So far, we have volunteers planning events in Vermont , Connecticut, and Maine. Of course these events are all contingent on safety during COVID.

Before we go any further with plans in Maine, we are doing a survey to see if there is interest. We are looking at meeting in Waldboro Maine at Moody’s Diner and Motel. . There is room availability from Tuesday 9/8 thru Monday 9/14. We are thinking of offering several opportunities to get together. One day we would spend time in the Waldboro area walking – enjoying the Maine shoreline. Another day we would meet at Lisa and Palmer’s home in Freedom. Lisa and Palmer have a vast piece of property for TT playing and if weather is inclement, they have a large barn. From Waldboro to Freedom is about 49 minutes north. (Maine is a big state.)
We would have lunch at the Palmer homestead.

Please answer the questions below send it back to us as soon as possible.

2. I prefer weekends or week days. Weekend dates Saturday 9/12 – Sunday 9/13 Weekdays any two days between Tuesday 9/8 to Friday 9/11.

From Deidre Philpot Cookie is my first Tibetan and the light of my life . She just turned 8 on July 8th . She has been my constant companion since she was 9 weeks old. She is just about the smartest dog I’ve ever known.
Turtle is Cookies nephew and just turned 3 on July 7th. He is such a sweet boy and looks up to Cookie so much. The sun rises and sets around her. Turtle is very athletic and loves our daily hikes and adventures. He loves to chase anything that moves.
I am a dog walker and pet sitter in DC and I do off leash hikes and playgroups during the day . Cookie and Turtle are my co workers and come every day with me. We live a very good life. I am lucky. Thank you again for letting us join and looking forward to getting to know more of you.

From Jen Levens Thank you for having Andy and me in your club. This is Paige, she is 15 months and our first TT. We recently moved full time to her home state of Vermont after many years in NYC. We think she enjoys the extra space and having us home all day. When she isn't napping with her two cat siblings she's taking agility classes or chasing her ball as we attempt to garden. We look forward to meeting everyone. Paige especially loves playing with other TTs.

BCTTC is excited to announce that Markus Gisslen will be the judge for our Specialty May 2021 - at the Ladies Dog Club Show in Wrentham MA. You have over a year to get you dog in show shape and pick out the right perfect show outfit for yourself.

Markus is licensed to judge 17 breeds. He has judged countless shows in Europe & Scandinavia and has been in the Tibetan Terrier breed since 1990.

We will also have a program for all TTFanciers so we can show Markus all our well-loved TTs. (Thinking of a group picture with Markus.)

We need your support.

The names of everyone who donates to the fund will be displayed at all our events for the year.
You are welcome to make your donation in the "celebration of" or "memory of "a favorite person or beloved Tibetan Terrier. This information will also be displayed at all events.

If you'd like to participate, we are suggesting a $25.00 donation. No matter the amount , every donation will be greatly appreciated and will allow us to amp up the quality and desirability of our trophies.
