With the rising temperatures hitting San Diego, it is incredibly important to make sure your pets do not suffer from heat stroke! Please do your part to make sure your pets are in a cool environment, aren’t going on walks when the temperature is too high and always have water available!

Happy World Veterinary Day to our very own Dr. Dhaliwal! Thank you for your endless dedication and love towards your patients 🥰

The AVMA proudly joins the World Veterinary Association, HealthforAnimals, and colleagues from around the world in celebrating World Veterinary Day. The 2024 theme is "Veterinarians are essential health workers."

Today's veterinarians are the only doctors educated to protect the health of both animals and people. They work hard to address the health and welfare needs of every species of animal. Veterinarians also play critical roles in environmental protection, research, food safety, and public health. Thank you to all the veterinarians around the world!

It is with a very heavy heart we share the news that our sweet Jack, our former clinic cat turned into Dr. Dhaliwal & myself’s home kitty, passed away yesterday evening. He was surrounded by his loving work aunties, his dog brother Remy, dog cousin Ghost, myself and his dad Dr. Dhaliwal. Jack was just a couple months shy of turning 17. Jack was the clinic cat at the Hawaii clinic for 15 years & when I left that clinic to come back to Plaza Blvd Pet Hospital, I decided to bring him back with me. Shu helped me fly him from Oahu to San Diego. He quickly went from being a very grumpy cat that hated being touched to a happy, playful, cuddly old man. At home, he enjoyed chasing his brother Remy and
playing with his mouse toys. His happy place was sitting on the couch at home with us, cuddled in a blanket watching Indian movies. We are all so incredibly thankful for the 11 months of happiness he gave us! He brought us so much joy. Our hearts are shattered losing our sweet Jack Jack so soon 💙

Our dearest Dr. Fox has retired as of 2024! We wish her a relaxing and fun-filled retirement doing all the things she loves! We thank her for the 10 years she has helped the animals of Plaza Boulevard Pet Hospital. She will be greatly missed at the clinic by us all 💗
Dr. Dhaliwal is our only veterinarian on staff at this time. We are working on hiring another veterinarian but until then, for the month of January, we are going to be closed on Saturdays for doctor’s appointments in order to give Dr. Dhaliwal a day to rest!
We look forward to another wonderful year of helping your pets 🐾

To better protect your dogs from the respiratory illness going around the country, please keep your dog’s Bordatella and Influenza vaccine up to date! If you’d like to double check if your pet is up to date, feel free to give us a call! Please be patient with us as we have a heavy call volume during the holidays.

As more cases of canine respiratory disease pop up throughout the U.S., we want to share a few best practices to ensure your dog stays healthy and safe this holiday season.

Please keep an eye out for any of these symptoms in your dogs! Let’s work together to keep them healthy 💙

Please keep an eye out for any of these symptoms in your dogs! Let’s work together to keep them healthy 💙

❗ A mysterious yet highly contagious disease is affecting dogs across the US and is similar to the symptoms of kennel cough or canine influenza. Be on the lookout for signs of upper respiratory illness in your dog, such as sneezing, coughing, nasal and/or eye discharge, and lethargy. If you suspect your dog may be affected, contact your veterinarian.

This is an evolving situation, and we will share information as soon as we have it.

Meet our sweet friend Riley, our very first patient to receive Librela, a groundbreaking new therapy for osteoarthritis. Riley has been coming to the clinic since he was a puppy and now he’s 13 years old! He’s had difficulty sitting down, getting up and walking more recently but now there's hope for a brighter, pain-free future thanks to Librela!

🌟 What is Librela?
Librela is a game-changer in the world of veterinary medicine. It's the first monoclonal antibody therapy designed specifically to treat osteoarthritis in dogs. There is also one to treat osteoarthritis in cats called Solensia!
Benefits of Librela:
1. Pain relief that lets your dog run and play like a pup again.
2. Improved mobility, making everyday activities easier.
3. Long-lasting results with just one injection per month.
4. Very safe compared to pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory medications.

At Plaza Boulevard Pet Hospital, we are committed to providing the best care for the lovely pets we meet! With Librela, we're thrilled to offer modern treatments that can make a significant difference in your dog's life.
