How many 4 y/o’s can you video from? From Ruby’s junior rider: “Ruby is a blast to hunt. She has a nice long stretchy walk on the buckle and is easy enough to control in all gaits with just one hand. Perfect horse to take videos from! Soo adjustable even during a chase. She’s super curious about the hounds and loves to watch them work. Extremely honest and has never said no to any questions asked. She’s 4 years old with a very mature brain. I can definitely see her being a horse for everyone to enjoy with her sweet nature.”

Kay is a 2021 grey Georgian Grande mare who is ready to excel in a program. Approximately 16hh, she takes up leg and will continue to grow and fill out for a few more years. Kay has extensive trail miles, is at ease with dogs, farm equipment, etc, and is ridden by both Adult Amateurs and Juniors.

Kay is looking to further her knowledge in the ring with a competent rider but is willing and eager to please. We suspect she will make someone a phenomenal hunt horse. Kay is up to date on all veterinary and farrier care, stands well for care, ties both straight or cross-tied, and has all the makings of a great mount. Easy to handle, loads and travels well, and lives in or out. Sn**ch her up at a deal now before she gains more ring mileage and is introduced to fox hunting!

Someone is going to end up with one heck of a horse in a compact package!

Ruby is a 2020 Georgian Grande mare. Likely to mature around 15.2, she is an eye-catching chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, but lacks the "chestnut mare" behavior! Ruby is forward thinking but very safe. She's been ridden extensively on trail and spent several months with an upper level dressage rider. Straight forward enough for an amateur to bring along and has been ridden by and captured the hearts of the juniors in our barn.

Ruby has been started over cavaletti and small jumps and really seems to enjoy it. Ruby is a solid citizen in every way.

Ruby has the talent and versatility to be competitive in the show ring one day and run with the hounds the next! She has recognized dressage shows under her belt, combined tests, and most recently has been introduced to the hunt field by one of our junior riders and took right to it. We just can’t say enough good about this girl.

For those of you who have had your eye on Ruby, she has been busy adding to her already lovely resume this fall! One of our awesome juniors has taken her to her first combined test AND has started hunting her. In fact, several of our juniors have been riding and loving on her.

Tasks include feeding, cleaning, general barn care. Experience is not necessary and training will be provided. Reliability and honesty are the priority! We can also offer riding opportunities based on experience. While we primarily focus on fox hunting, eventing, and dressage, we are an open barn and are welcoming of individuals from all disciplines with safety and care of the horse being the upmost priority.

Stone Tavern stable is on the look out for a paid working student-type situation. We focus on fox hunting, dressage, and eventing, with care and well-being of the horse as our top priority. We work closely with our farrier, vet, chiropractor, and other specialists and we are an active sales barn, so there are always horses to bring along, plenty of riding, and great learning opportunities for the right candidate. Responsibilities include general care and maintenance, feeding, and mucking.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide living accommodations, but will compensate for time and provide plenty of training opportunities. Willing to adapt a schedule and situation for a reliable, hard-working candidate. Great fit for a college student or young adult with flexible schedule. If you would like to spend the time trail-riding, fox hunting, gaining exposure to sales and competition, and not to mention some really great people and horses, please reach out to us! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get a foot in the door of the equine industry.
