⭐️Ruby is a 2020 (coming five) Georgian Grande mare. Likely to finish maturing around 15.2, she is an eye-catching chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, but lacks the "chestnut mare" behavior! Ruby is forward thinking but very safe and straight forward enough for an amateur.

Ruby has just finished her first season hunting with the Rockbridge Hunt, has logged extensive trail miles, has USDF show experience, enjoys jumping, has been to a combined test with a junior rider…her resume speaks for itself!

⭐️Kay is a 2021 grey Georgian Grande mare who is ready to excel in a program. Approximately 15.3hh, she takes up leg and will continue to grow and fill out for a few more years. We estimate that she will finish 16-16.1hh. Kay has extensive trail miles, is at ease with dogs, farm equipment, etc, and is ridden by both Adult Amateurs and Juniors.

Kay is furthering her knowledge in the ring and is coming along very well and is willing and eager to please. We suspect she will make someone a phenomenal hunt horse, eventer, or even dressage mount. Kay is up to date on all veterinary and farrier care, stands well for care, ties both straight or cross-tied, and has all the makings of a great mount. Easy to handle, loads and travels well, and lives in or out.

We think it’s so important for horses (and riders!) to get out of the ring. Kay enjoys taking in the sights, jumping the things, and even met our Rockbridge Hounds yesterday!

She is a truly lovely beast, and we can’t wait for her to find her person. 🌷

You’re not seeing double!

Kay’s half sister, May, is available as well. May is a Georgian Grande Quarter Horse cross, and has the looks as well as brains. Currently located in SW Virginia, she is getting a great education and trail time with our friend, Zeb. She’ll be traveling our way soon, so sn**ch her up before we continue to put the miles on her and get her out and about!

Sweet Kay is available! Kay has some big shoes to fill behind her relatives Levi, Rose, Sabina, Ruby, and Nyela (all also pictured doing their thing), but we are completely confident she’s up for the challenge.

Her siblings and half-siblings have gone on to make phenomenal hunt horses, dressage mounts, and eventers…some are all three and all are much-loved!

Kay is coming along well and is a barn favorite. She loves attention, learns quickly, and is eager to please. She is a trail boss and is building her education in the ring. Kay’s a smart girl with a sound mind!

We have rare stall openings at Stone Tavern Stable! Have a green bean that needs some miles? A hunt horse that needs to stay in shape over the summer months? A horse or pony that needs to find its new address?

Sarah has availability for training horses and consignment horses. She has a solid background in eventing, dressage, and fox hunting, and has spent extensive time bringing along young horses, introducing them to the show ring or hunt field slowly and correctly, and prepping and advertising horses to find their forever homes.

Stone Tavern is convenient to the Virginia Horse Center, all Rockbridge Hunt fixtures, and a short trip to Greenhill Park in Salem. We have thorough experience in rehabbing horses, use equine bodywork and chiropractics, work closely with our farriers and vets, and always put horse and rider welfare and safety first. Stone Tavern boasts an incredible, fun-loving barn family full of adult amateurs and kids. Join us and let us help you reach your goals—and have fun doing it!

Dolany’s Java is a 2016 model, 15.3 Hh Holsteiner gelding with impeccable breeding. As a Donnerhall grandson, Java is well-suited for a career in Dressage or the hunters. Much like his grandsire, he has three lovely and rideable gaits that are sure to get noticed. Java has been to a USDF recognized show and is just looking for the right rider to continue his education and bring him up the levels. Java has a great foundation and has even most recently even been ridden by a junior.
