Stone Tavern stable is on the look out for a paid working student-type situation. We focus on fox hunting, dressage, and eventing, with care and well-being of the horse as our top priority. We work closely with our farrier, vet, chiropractor, and other specialists and we are an active sales barn, so there are always horses to bring along, plenty of riding, and great learning opportunities for the right candidate. Responsibilities include general care and maintenance, feeding, and mucking.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide living accommodations, but will compensate for time and provide plenty of training opportunities. Willing to adapt a schedule and situation for a reliable, hard-working candidate. Great fit for a college student or young adult with flexible schedule. If you would like to spend the time trail-riding, fox hunting, gaining exposure to sales and competition, and not to mention some really great people and horses, please reach out to us! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get a foot in the door of the equine industry.

We are smitten with Whittling Ridge Farms Ava Arrington’s Ruby! What four year old gets on the trailer by herself, goes to VHC, shows off the trailer, conquers and indoor for the first time at her first recognized show, and only shows improvement and acceptance over the course of the show?!

Not to mention that at five months pregnant, Sarah is being very selective about who she rides these days. It speaks volumes about Ruby’s demeanor and brain that (should we mention it again?) a FOUR YEAR OLD is still at the top of her list!

The best part? Ruby is AVAILABLE and looking for her person to spoil and love her, and yes, she will stand all day to be scrubbed, brushed, and pampered ❤️

Stone Tavern is a family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere whose staff places an emphasis on safety, correct basics, and the well-being of horse and rider. While we primarily focus on dressage, eventing, and fox hunting, we welcome members of any discipline!

Stone Tavern offers lessons on our school horses, haul-in lessons, training board, potential lease situations, and consignment sales.

We welcome all ages and skill levels and believe riding should be fun!
