Hutch is always ready for his picture to be taken 📸🐻

Note:
Hutch is in torpor! What is torpor? It’s a state of sluggishness that’s triggered in bears this time of year. Many confuse torpor with hibernation, which is also a state of inactivity, but has more significant changes to the body and lasts longer. Torpor can be entered and exited daily or weekly. When the weather is very cold, our bears will remain in torpor longer. On a warmer day, they’re more likely to exit torpor for a while, raising their heart rates and body temperature long enough to shift around, get some food, and find a new comfy spot to fall back asleep. Every few weeks, they wake up and eat, then doze back off.
