We have just over an hour to go! We still have some wonderful items available! š¾
Our last Garden Party at the current shelter! Weāre OPEN!
Obsidianās been at A Dogās Tale LLC wonderful facility since 03/15/24, which allowed her time to decompress and be evaluated by Alysha Kloeckner CPDT-KA, and has since then entered their board and train program.
We joke that Obiās at camp, because in many ways it is like camp, except maybe thereās no roasted marshmallows! Sheās having fun, making new friends, and learning so many thingās under Alysha expert training!
Obiās had a recent veterinary work up to rule out any medical issues that may be affecting her behavior, and is trialing a new medication. Alysha has been helping Obi become accustomed to a muzzle, a safety feature which will help at vet visits and when sheās in situations she may be uncertain with. Alysha is also helping Obi feel more comfortable meeting new people, so important to meet her forever person(s)!
Obi is making some good progress with these things, and we feel so fortunate that she has this opportunity! We believe in Obi, and while we realize she will need a special person(s) to commit to her, we believe she can have a good life in the community.
Hereās what Obsidian needs in a home:
- Child and cat free environment due to fear-based aggression and herding behaviors.
- Understanding that she will likely require a full week of decompression after leaving the shelter and will take time to fully bond with the adopters.
- Continuation of training and management recommendations to help address her fear-based aggression and territorial behavior.
- Several hours of physical and mental exercise especially if she goes into a dog free home.
- Providing a safe space for Obsidian when meeting unfamiliar people, this would include having a safe space when guests visit the home.
- Accommodating special needs vet care with a fear free certified clinic who uses low stress handling techniques, some pre-appointment sedation may be required.
- Continuation of her current long-term behavior medication(s) (Fluoxetine and currently Clonidi

And hereās what Obsidianās foster mom had to say about her:
āObi is such a smart dog, she picks up on things easily and does several different tricks. She would probably do really well with agility, LOVES her tennis balls and is getting better at frisbee.
She loves to cuddle with you on the couch or bed. She does not destroy furniture, doesnāt counter surf and only barks when she is playing with other dogs.ā
Obsidian has been learning with Better Together Animal Training LLC and NAS will sponsor her first consultation after adoption. Better Together Animal Training is also willing to help with any questions or concerns prior to adopting Obsidian.

Ali had a vet visit earlier this week. We stopped at Walgreens on the way back to get him a teddy bear for being such a good patient. He brings it everywhere with him and if you tell him to " Go get bear, he'll bring it to you.
He is still looking for his forver home, he would like a home with either no kids or older children. He can be dog choosey and gets a little too excited at times so a home with no other dogs or one well socialized dog would be ideal.

Doppio has been putting in the extra hours at the biscuit factory to try and buy himself a ticket out of here!
Doppio has been with us since March and is ready to move on to his forever home.
He has been our office assistant the last few months and we think he would make a great companion.
Doppio is a little too curious when the door is open so a home with older children would be ideal.
He has been curious about some other animals that have visited our office in the past few months but was overwhelmed in our cat room, for this reason we believe he would tolerate a furry companion.
Doppio is on a daily anxiety med, he gobbles it up every morning in his wet food with no complaints ā he will gladly tell you when itās time to eat every morning.
He is estimated to be around 2 years old, he is fully vetted and microchipped.
If you think that he may be a good fit for your family you can apply here:

#caturdayeveryday Carl came in as a stray back in June. He loves to be pet and is very affectionate. He sometimes gets overstimulated so he would do best in a home where he is the only cat. If you are interested in adopting Carl or any other pet please fill out an adoption application. https://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html
Pashmina really needs a home! Head to Neenahanimalshelter.org to fill out an application.
