Can’t do a memory Monday series without mentioning Koda. He is the best little boy. We can tell this was taken awhile back because he is wearing a long leash. He came with instructions that he might not stay close but it didn’t take long to realize he loves his pack. We love you Koda💙

Success Story Sunday 🎉 LadyBug - Sadie

"My name is Tresa, and I’ve been volunteering at the Shelter for about 6 months. In June, a Rottweiler was abandoned at Tapiola Park, and made her way to the shelter. She was known as “Lady Bug”, and she was completely different from all the other dogs.

She didn’t bark, she didn’t stand up to greet you, she would just stare at you with her big, sad eyes and lay in her cot all day. After a visit with the vet, they determined that she has hip dysplasia and bad knees, and surgery is in her future.

I started the foster journey as fast as possible, so I could take her home and make her comfortable. After fostering for a few months, we knew that she was OUR dog. My little family of three, became four, when we adopted LadyBug (now known as Sadie) on August 8th 2024.

With a combination of pain management medicines and a variety of homecooked nutrient-rich foods, we’ve watched her pain slowly melt away, and her personality start to shine through. She is a silly, stubborn, playful girl, that loves tennis balls and refuses to go outside if it’s raining. She grabs the leash to walk herself if you’re taking too long and insists on sleeping in the bed with us every single night. Sadie is 92 lbs. of love, licks and endless snuggles.

I’ve never met a dog that had so much love to give, I couldn’t imagine life without her. She fits perfectly in our house."

October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! In the spirit of this, the Tillamook FFA Chapter is hosting a "Paw It Forward Drive". We are seeking donations of new pet items. All items will be split between the Tillamook Animal Shelter and Tillamook K9 Rescue. Abby Rieger is leading the charge of the drive for her senior project.

Donation bins will be located at the TCCA Farm Store, Fred Meyer, and Tillamook High School. We are collecting donations for the month of October. Item ideas are listed on the flyer below. Thanks for your support!
