Meet Garland! When this scared boy came into the shelter he was injured. He was unable to put any weight on his right arm, had a bloody nose, and a laceration to his back leg. The amazing man that brought him and his siblings to FFAA gave a generous donation because he knew Garland was injured and wanted to pay for his medical treatment. We took Garland to the vet and through x rays we found out he had a bad break on his elbow (possibly hit by car) and the vet recommended amputation. Monday morning Garland had his amputation along with his neuter. He will be under medical watch for the next 2 weeks until his stitches come out and then he will be available for adoption! We are wanting to get his story out there now so that when he’s ready, he will have a forever home to continue healing and finally feel safe. Faithful Friends Animal Advocates is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Kennel Manager! This part-time role (20 hours per week) is perfect for someone passionate about animal welfare and ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
🐾 Overseeing daily kennel operations and ensuring smooth routines.
🐾 Monitoring the health, behavior, and overall well-being of the animals.
🐾 Collaborating with staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional care.
🐾 Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for animals and visitors.
🐾 Ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed and covered.

What We're Looking For:
✅ A heart for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
✅ Excellent organizational and communication skills.
✅ Prior experience in animal care (preferred but not required).

I am a handsome young mixed breed dog who has now been at FFAA for several months -- but before that, I infamously roamed Neosho, playing in traffic, begging food from local fast food joints, and chasing rabbits. It took the concentrated effort of many individuals and weeks of planning to catch me -- even a night vision camera! Lots of people were worried about how I'd act once captured since I have been on my own and evading any kind of human contact for so long. I was so scared when it happened, but once I felt the kind touch of my new friends and got used to eating filling meals at regular times, I was more than happy to rejoin society.

I am having a great time making new friends and being loved on by the staff at FFAA, and I have made quite a few doggy friends too. But I think that I am ready for the next step in my life's journey -- finding a forever home that is specifically for me!! I am not too high energy, I keep my kennel clean, I'm pretty good on leash walks, and I'm a loving and thankful boy who always makes sure to stop and give kisses in the middle of playing with toys! I've been office dog quite a few times now, and I always keep my space clean. I'm finally figuring out how much fun toys are too. If you'd like to come and meet me, please remember that I have gone from living outside and roaming a city for months to a shelter which can be loud, overwhelming, and boring. I need some time to warm up to new friends, but once you've won my heart, I'm sweet beyond belief! ❤️🐾

It was given by the kind person who cared for her after she was abandoned, and it reflects her calm and affectionate nature. Sweetie has been with us at FFAA for 126 days. If you ever wonder if your donations get used and how, take a peek at new intake Patches. She’s been having a hard time adjusting to kennel living, and she is so terrified that all she did was desperately burrow under her blankets and hide her face - even shoving her nose into the corner and staring at it to avoid seeing her surroundings. We switched out a traditional open bed for this covered hidey bed - which someone donated some months ago from our Amazon wishlist. Now, thanks to this donor’s generosity and the way this bed works, Patches gets to feel much safer; her emotional comfort has increased hugely even though she’s physically being covered by less!
