Maybel loves with her whole heart. She's a four-year-old Terrier Mix who is great with all people, kids, other dogs, and cats; she's highly sociable and greets everyone she meets with a big smile and a wagging tail, as you'll see in the clip. Paws of War is Still on Ground, Rescuing the Helpless
When the California wildfires forced families to evacuate with no time to spare, Cookie the cat was left behind, terrified and hiding. For days, Paws of War team member Niki joined Shyann Swisher and her team in a tireless search, determined to reunite Cookie with her mom.
After a week of searching, they finally heard a faint meow. Cookie was found wedged deep in a kitchen cabinet, terrified but alive. With quick thinking, Niki used sardines to coax her out, and the team successfully secured her in a carrier. She was then reunited with her mom, before being taken to Animal Wellness Center, where Dr. Annie Harvilicz provided the critical care Cookie desperately needed.

Paws of Warโs relief team is racing to rescue animals trapped in Californiaโs burn zones.
Shortly after arriving in LA, our team received a desperate, heart-wrenching phone call from an elderly woman. She had been forced to flee her home, leaving behind her beloved cat, Ziggy, who had hidden from fear as the flames closed in on them. Through tears, she begged our team to help find him and we knew there was not a minute to spare and they leapt into action.
Our team leaped into action and safely located Ziggy, frightened but alive. The reunion between Ziggy and his owner was a moment of pure joy, but our mission didnโt end there.
As we prepared to leave, we learned there were turtles still trapped inside the burning home. We couldnโt leave them behind. With the clock ticking, we returned and rescued them, ensuring every life was saved.
All the animals were rushed to the Animal Wellness Center, where their incredible team has been treating fire victims and even fostering some to provide round-the-clock care.
