This morning there was an anonymous post that was unkind to our farm and not true. It was on a local “neighbors helping each other page” looking for lessons and saying we were “over the top priced” and she didn’t want to spend more than 50.00. Obviously our lessons are not near that much but I want to just reiterate what we do and don’t offer.

What we DO offer:
Below are pictures of five of our horses.
The first shows a pony we adopted and rehabbed who was severely underweight. Though she has a sway back, she now is at a healthy weight and loving weight. We teach our students to love even those that have not been loved and cared for in the past.

The second picture shows just one of the quality foals our farm has raised. We’ve been breeding crtitocally endangered Cleveland Bays since 1998. You can find our babies all over the US and a few in Canada! We show our students we can breed quality sound animals that are kind.

The third picture shows a foal we bred that fell on hard times this year with his I’ll owner. We take our foals back, no questions asked if they need a soft place to land. Teaching our kids that we need to be responsible for the animals we have placed on this earth.

The fourth picture is one of the many mustangs that have come through our farm. We gentle our mustangs with positive reinforcement training and aim to have a willing partner who wants to spend time with us. Mustangs take a lot of time and patience and we are committed to helping them and welcoming more into gentle for ourselves and others next month! Isn’t it neat to have student see that the gentle longer approach works!

The fifth picture is the only one not taken today. This is one of our now retired and 36 year old school horses. He was 27 in this picture though. He was rescued through auction at a brokers and had a broken past that led to a bit of aggressiveness under saddle and on the ground. My 12 year old worked with him under my guidance and he turned into an amazing partner. He loves his life out here because we don’t dump our horses at auction when they are no longer useful. We allow them to be cherished and teach our students to do the same!

What you will NOT find:
Barn drama with the students. We are kind to each other and support each other. If I find you aren’t we find another solution for you.

We don’t treat our horses unkindly or allow anyone to be around them that could potentially ruin any trust. This means I do a lot more work myself. But its worth it to me to know they feel safe.

I attended college and rode under many instructors giving me the opportunity to find a little from each to take away. I have a double major in equine studies of teaching and stable management. Safety is my biggest priority but also that riding be fun! Of course my barn isn’t the best fit for everyone. But it can certainly be a great home for some! We are all trying our best!

Remember “Ride Quietly, Listen Softly, Love Completely” when with your horse!
